I found this article today about the replacement procedure that will need to be followed if your PS3 kicks it..
Yes it is true at least one PS3 has actually bricked itself and had to be replaced. You have to hand it to Sony the build quality of the PS3 seems to be absolutely fantastic.
Anyway the story itself is not so interesting but it may be helpful to someone out there.
This failure sounded like a power problem inside the Box…..
