Activision settles its lawsuit against EA

EA Wins

A mere two days ago I reported on Activision paying our over $43 million to the “Infinity Ward Employee Group” that it had wrongly been holding back and now today Activision has reached an out of court settlement with EA over their $400 million lawsuit.

Unfortunately the details of the settlement are being withheld but it has been revealed that this settlement does not settle the other court case that Activision and Jason West and Vince Zampella are involved in that is due to be heard in court on the 29th of May

According to West and Zampella’s lawyer this settlement once again shows that Activision is in the wrong and that their clients are entirely innocent.

In their words

Activision dragged EA into the case hoping to distract from Activision’s wretched conduct towards West and Zampella

In dismissing EA today, Activision admits that it was never going to convince anyone that EA conspired with West and Zampella to breach their contracts or did anything else improper

It’s not looking good for Activision right now and with West and Zampella currently seeking $350 million and with Activision already having paid out $43 million this lawsuit that is looking more vengeful by the day looks to cost Activision a huge amount of money.

It’s also interesting to note that these settlements are coming soon after Activision changed counsel, I wonder if the new counsel has simply told them that they can’t win?
