Fallout 4 explains Agility

The past few weeks of Fallout 4’s stylised promotional videos have been a guilty pleasure of mine (I mean, just look at how well they’re made), but they’ve also been a surprisingly good source of information around the new and improved perk system that will ship with the game next month. Perks are tied to S.P.E.C.I.A.L – the branches of attributes the make up your character. And looking at Agility, it seems it might be a requirement for all players.

Agility is mostly important because of its direct control over the Vault Assisted Targeting System, or VATS as it is more commonly known. If you’re new to Fallout, VATS is a system that allows you to slow down time to a crawl, target individual parts of an enemy, stack attack commands and then execute them in a flurry. having higher Agility means you’ll be able to chain more attacks together, making it incredibly important no matter what Fallout character you’re trying to build.

Agility also allows you to build a more stealth-focused character, giving you more benefits to landing sneak attacks of  unaware enemies. This will presumably also unlock perks that allow you to stay in stealth for longer, and avoid the gaze of potential targets. I’ve never played a Bethesda RPG like that (because the stealth systems usually aren’t fantastic), but it’s always good to keep in mind.

With Agility out of the way it leaves just Luck left, which is the past has been rather crucial in nabbing some fantastic early loot. We’ll get an better look at it next week, as Fallout 4 is now just under four weeks away from release. Who is excited?
