Amazing Battlefield Bad Company Screenshots

Wow, I just received an email tip from Doobiwan about the new Battlefield Bad Company screenshots

Now I have to admit that somehow I didn’t know about this and even emailed him back to say that I generally don’t report on PC gaming yet… Only to find out these are screenshots for a console game…

I think this goes to show that neither the PS3 nor the Xbox 360 are anywhere near their limit yet… This screenshot is easily my favourite

I didn’t want to ruin the images by shrinking them to fit so follow the link to see them…

That shot is also my fave. That explosion is insane! DX9 still has a lot of oomph left.

I think that was the big misnomer. There is very little Dx10 can do that Dx9 can’t, it’s just the way it’s implemented. I think the big difference was unified shaders, but I could be wrong.

Wow… Crysis can eat my socks. This is what an optimized game should be! 🙂

Bad Company sounds like alot of fun too. The storyline sounds very much like the movie Three kings (which i’m sure it’s based on)

War-comedy game with distructible environments = coolness.

Milesh, did you ever play BF2? For 18+ months it consumed my FPS obsession. And flying games. And Racing Games. And tank games. 64 player battlefield sandbox. If BC is nothing more than a pretty version of the BF2 mechanics + destructible environments I’ll be in utopia.

As I alluded to in another post, it makes things like UT and Quake, and to a lesser degree Halo look so “90’s”.

@Abev – Maybe, until Sony releases a firmware update that breaks the game just like AC got broken? 😉

I’ve played BF2, but mostly at LANs, never had a fast enough connection. The game was cool in that it let you do lots of stuff and learning a vehicle properly wasa big part of the game. I could never get the hang of the chopper 🙁

It looks like BF:BC will be a single player game that will allow DICE to eventually tweak the engine to make BF3.

The thing that appealed to me was actually the story. There are plenty of War (Modern or WWII) games that try to put you in a war, this one tries something different (and the trailer was hilarious)

And that’s if Eskom gets around to installing the 3 phase power supply needed to run a graphics card capable of playing the latest PC games. 😉

    @Abe, well they’re leading development on the 360, and we know what that means . . . . 🙂

Funny how Criterion – leading Burnout on the PS3 said the exact opposite

Its still amazing how fanboys still believe that the X360 cant handle anything the PS3 can do… and at times even better! 😉

And for a cheaper price too!

I stare at my screen in giddy anticipation waiting for the phrase “unleash the true potential of the cell” to make its appearance. I wonder if they called it the cell because developers are prisoners of its limitations ?

Hey you get 2 back so there!

@BHW – If you want to see the cells potential run folding@home, build a compute cluster or go watch a BR movie. Just don’t sit waiting for it to revolutionize gaming, because that’s not what it’s designed for, rather get a Wii ….

Just wait for MGS4 to release next year – everybody is going to trade in their Xboxes and Wii’s and join the PS3 revolution

19 responses to a good news for both sides article… weird 🙂

@boredhousewife, I severely doubt MGS is going to change the console ownership stats in any meaningful way. It is a cult hit and will never a truly mainstream game. It isn’t going to sell in nearly the same amounts as Halo for example

Heh heh, we definitely need more of those 😉

I predict the week GT5 comes out in Europe the PS3 will annihilate everything.

This week should be interesting as well, doesn’t Singstar come out?
