Hooray! South Africans who’re averse to setting their devices to a faux locale to take advantage of Nintendo’s 3DS ambassador program will still be able to download the free games Nintendo’s giving out as a goodwill gesture to early adopters who paid full price for the system.

Heres how…

You’ll need to set up internet on your 3DS using an available Wi-Fi connection and perform two system updates. The first, which enrols you in the ambassador program, needs to be completed before midnight tomorrow – so you’d best get hurrying. To perform said update, Open the System Settings from the HOME Menu, Select OTHER SETTINGS, Scroll to the right and select SYSTEM UPDATE. Easy!

When the Ambassador program actually goes live, you’ll have to download another system update – but it’ll give you access to the free games you’ll be able to download to your system. The games that’ll be available include  Super Mario Bros, Donkey Kong Jr., Balloon Fight, Ice Climber and The Legend of Zelda for the NES,  and later down the line will be bolstered by Gameboy Advance titles like Yoshi’s Island: Super Mario Advance 3, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Metroid Fusion, WarioWare, Inc: Minigame Mania, Mario vs. Donkey Kong and the best game ever made, made even better.
