You have to feel sorry for Polyphony Digital at times, they are one of the only companies out there to have their unreleased code scrutinised so closely and every time there is a bug it ends up on every site on the planet.

This latest minor issue occurred at the Eurogamer Expo in London on the weekend and basically the game loses its road for a good 32 seconds, making driving really difficult.

In reality this shouldn’t bother anyone as the game isn’t yet ready for release but the number of rabbid followers the GT5 series has means that any news what so ever is greedily consumed.

The one thing that did concern me a little in this video is how long it took to load the Nurburgring but again that could be someone else looking for attention like last time.

I had the track vanish in forza on me as well, just before the gpu E74’ed.

Was funny driving without a track, or any markers, by the AI and rest still worked on the track coordinates.

To be fair, the Nurburgring is a really big track, its usually slower to load than most, in most driving games I have played

forza forums are in a blaze right now with members getting banned left right center, these are loyal fans not scrubs! who are chomping at the bits to leave forza for any console racing simulator that comes out, so i can see f12010 and gt5 picking up alot of forza fans this november. but no one reports this news! why!

im ok they can diss gt5 all they want, but next year at e3 i wonder who turn 10 are going to be addressing? the medi?a coz they got no hardcore fanbase at the moment, im not trying to exaggerate or make this up. the loyal fans are truly pissed.

It must be really difficult to have your entire sense of self worth based upon whether or not GT5 “beats” Forza.

    @GooseZA
not really, its just that gt5 took a long time to come out and idiots like you and dan greenwalt tried to make my favorite game not exist anymore.

Just because you live a dull and boring live with no passion. dont try spoil it for others with your bitter outlook on life, i like alot of things! and im just as passionate about them, but in gaming theres is only one thing im passionate about, im not here to make you understand, what being a fan is all about.

@lans – Dude, never once have I dissed GT5 in any of my comments. From what I’ve seen it looks like it’s shaping up to be ridonkulously awesome and I’m sure you’re going to love every second of it. I’ve certainly never tried to make your favourite game “not exist anymore”

My point was that the majority of your comments are something along the lines of “Gt5 is going to be fantastic, all those forza suckers are going to be sorry etc etc”, or “why does this site never post anything negative about forza?” etc. I think if you take a few deep breaths you’ll see that Nick and the crew are more impartial than you think.

Perhaps my comment assumed too much but your response isn’t proving me wrong here.

Anyway, I’d better get back to my dull and boring life…

Also lans, please explain again why it’s SO IMPORTANT for us to post negative news on a one year old game?

to bring balance to the force!!!

i just want media to be objective, i dont think forza got any negative news on anything anyway! nice article i loled for about 15 minutes, but you guys need to keep your media relations clean i want this site to grow and become a proper gaming site, not a copy paste site, which puts international gaming journalists to shame! but i dont want you guys to get punished for sticking your heads out…sigh i regret my actions

I Don’t think Nick should go out of his way to post negative Forza news just to satisfy some psycho PS3 fanboy.

GT5 is enjoying unprecedented positive coverage by the media, that Forza could only dream of getting before launch. I cant tell you how many articles I have seen covering the high beam head lights in GT5 as if it is the greatest innovation since the atom bomb.

So please, give me a break, sites are slobbering all over GT5 just for hits, its to the point where all objectivity has been tossed aside and the game is being universally worshiped as perfect even before it has a demo of the final build. Turn 10 or anyone or anything else Microsoft would never get such pre launch acclaim from the media, Halo REACH was covered very well but it was always objective, I never saw a bunch of REACH article with titles starting with words like “AWESOME” and “Mindblowing”, not like I do GT5 articles, so seriously Ians STFU!

You are right he shouldnt post negative articles on a game for a fanboy. He should post news though even if its negative and if you bothered to read the comments on the N4G article you will notice about 50 and counting guys thanking Nick for bringing this out in the open from the forums which obviously Turn10 are ignoring. I bet they wont be ignoring the mainstream media when everyone else picks it up hey?

Now we wait and see what Turn10 do and if they will make amends. If they do then its all thanks to Nick!!!

Actually I thinks its nuts that the FM3 fans are so quick to toss their 360s out the window and burn all their games just because we have no idea when or if we will get 3 cars as DLC. Its amazing how GT fans are overly loyal, and FM3 fans are total en-greats LOL!

Poly could announce tomorrow that GT5 was delayed again till March, and I guarantee you would have more GT fans defending the delay than you would have outraged by it.

FM3 fans are ready to burn Microsoft headquarters to the ground just because of announced content coming to stores, T10 never even said current owners would not get the DLC. For all we know anyone who already bought all the packs will be getting the content free.

Poly kept its millions of fans in the dark about not only the launch date of GT5 but a great deal other details and specs about GT5 but you didn’t see a mass uprising over it, all we saw were GT fans defending the lack of information and blatant disregard for the games huge fan base. Its just amazing to see the difference in the two fan bases.

How did this suddenly become about GT5 again? Also if you bothered to read the article you would note its about Turn10 not fixing bugs in the game, deleting critical comments in the forums they dont like, not responding or listening to their community and then denying their racing community the cars that they have been asking for to be included in Forza 3 for the last year. Cars are important in a racing game even though you may not realize it. Especially cars the entire community begs for.

These arent Sony fanboys crying foul on the Turn10 forums but hardcore Xbox owners so you obviously have to realize there is a problem.

Also GT5 was never delayed in the west. The only time it ever got a launch window i.e not even a proper release date was in Japan and its launch window got delayed there. Never in the West so get over your little Forza vs GT5 rant and focus on the topic at hand. Turn10 and Forza 3 i.e not GT5 and Polyphony.
