And your exclusive PS3 Saints Row content is… Nothing

Oh isn’t this new trend just so much fun, first of all Sony promised that we’d be getting Battlefield 1943 in our Battlefield 3 boxes if we bought the PS3 version.

Then instead of telling us that it won’t happen they just shipped the game and acted surprised when people started asking questions.

And now learning from that they’ve done it again.

At E3 this year Sony proudly told the world that the PS3 version of Saints Row: The Third would include an exclusive mode utilising the games signature weapon. A massive purple dildo.

But now Joystiq has received both retail version (Xbox 360 and PS3) and cannot find this exclusive mode at all. Attempts to contact THQ have been met with a solid “No Comment” and that’s where the trail has died.

So how’s that for a new marketing technique from Sony. First you tell everyone that you’ve secured an exclusive deal so that more people will buy your version of a game instead of the competitors and then when the games released without that exclusivity you can simply claim no comment and walk away.

It’s amazing what we the general public are happy to allow. I wonder how many people are going to defend Sony for this one?
