Overlord

Fans of Overlord, the game that puts you in the shoes of a hell-bent lord of destruction can rejoice! Gamespot’s preview of Overlord 2 for the Xbox360, PS3 and PC makes it clear that fans can expect much of the same that made the first game so unique, including some very welcome new features.

Firstly, the game will still have the same mix of humour and carnage that made the first so incredibly memorable, something that fans of the series will be happy to hear. New features or tweaks includes much smarter minions to do your bidding that can now help you to operate machinery and even mount other creatures to take your evil-doing to a new level of awesomeness.

In terms of navigation, the game has also been improved by adding a much-needed minimap as well as better camera controls (something lacking in the original). You will also be able to possess the body of both your minions and enemies in certain cases as a means of entering a guarded area without anyone getting suspicious. New vibrant locations to plunder, presented with improved graphics will ensure that the game does not only play like a sequel but also thankfully looks like one.

Furthermore, the sequel allows you to concentrate on your Overlord’s more personal life, by means of “acquiring” up to three mistresses that obey your every whim (the exact details on this feature are still sketchy, something I’m thankful for, because I’m already getting uncomfortable just thinking about the possibilities).

The wait for the final game is almost over, with a release date of 23 June, the Overlord is almost ready to continue his reign of merciless terror on mankind!

    YEAH!
I know the original was not the best-rated game, but I thoroughly enjoyed the first outing. Hopefully they fixed some issues. Can’t wait for the next chapter!
