Arc You Ready… Arc you serious?

May I present to you the worst business slogan of all time.

“The future of gaming, Arc you ready?”… doh…

Seriously off all the names they could have given the overly phallic device it appears that Sony have settled on “Arc”… which while not awful could be better.

But if the above image is to be believed, which is not official, then the slogan for the upcoming Playstation motion controlling wand is going to be the utterly awful

“Arc you ready’?”…

This image was found on www.ps3arc.com which doesn’t appear to be in the least bit official so there is hope this is just some cyber squatter.

However to lend a whole pile of weight to the Arc rumour it has been revealed that Sony now own www.playstationarc.com which is currently a dead site. They do not however own www.playstationsphere.com (parked) or www.playstationglobe.com (available).

So are you happy with the name Arc? I give it 3 months after the official announcement before some Christian group complains about it.

That is the old PS3 font. Not sure if they would still use that…

I’m find with the name Arc – as long as they don’t use a slogan like that!

“Natal” is just the codename. We have no idea yet what it’ll be called when it releases.

that raises an interesting question… ms are renown for crappy product names (zune comes to mind), so what the hell are they going to call controllerless controller?

a conundrum of note, which inevitably will be way worse than its current code name (natal actually sounds ok to me).

The two biblical “Arks” are evidently spelt with a ‘k’. An “Arc” is just a curved line, so I don’t see there being a problem with this name from a religious perspective. Considering the meaning of the word arc, I don’t think “Arc” is actually such a bad name for the device. It definately makes more sense than “Natal”. Also, that slogan in that picture written in “Spiderman” font must be fake, as Sony is no longer using that font in their advertising (Thankfully).

Stupidest thing I’ve seen all day. Can we play “Spot the Athiest who tries to undermine Chirstians for no reason” game?

That was a silly quote, but not all atheists run around thinking about how to undermine “Chirstians” (sic), in fact the vast majority of us are far too busy commenting on forums, wondering why those so-called celebrities are on Survivor SA, what to eat tonight or whether writing weird things on lazygamer is really the best use of limited working day time.

They should call it the heathen beater. Coz face it , most games you kill non believers.

Be it in your religion, policies or way of life.

Perhaps, ol’ uberutang, and I guess Nico Belic was just doing the Lord’s work? I certainly hope you’re not trying to find religious meaning in games, because as much as I love my hobby, I doubt it’s all that kosher 😉 .

    uberutang:

must say Ive never played a game where i was given a weapon to kill none believers lol, but if you wanted a religous killer you can always play Bayonetta or Darksiders, both excellent games.

Thanks Bobby for the comment yeah I dont think I wrote it as “all” Athiests do this, if so I apologise. Its a free world no one has the authority to belittle anothers believes.

Wow I honestly didn’t expect anyone to get offended by that statement… but to give it a bit of backing, I just mentioned Arc and Christians in one post and got nailed for it.

Didn’t know it was such a senstivive subject
