Are our local gamers getting the short straw when it comes to PSN+

LBP

PSN+ has only been out for a couple of days now so teething problems are to be expected but it’s no surprise that our local guys are getting a little worried as they don’t seem to be getting all the benefits that they were promised.

A group of PS3 fans on the local forums have been saying that even though they have signed up for PSN+ they are still unable to download the full LittleBigPlanet from the local PSN store simply because it just isn’t there.

The initial rumour was that it would take 7 days to become available but unfortunately the 7 days has now passed and there isn’t a LBP download in site.

We have shot of some emails to the local and international PSN representatives to see if they can shine some light on the issue and we will update you as soon as we receive an answer.

Hopefully it’s simply that someone forgot to flick a switch on the local store.

If you want to help get answers please feel free to send this link to the SCEE Twitter account…

Is that the only thing the locals aren’t getting so far?

You got a link stating that it isn’t for all territories?

I don’t remember that ever being said and that obviously changes things quite dramatically.

I believe Greece and South Africa are the only EU territories getting LBP late.

By all territories I think you might mean US and Asia. In which case you are correct. They are getting something else. US gets 3 months free PSN+ and I don’t think Japan get anything.

Well we will get it. That is confirmed.

Just some local laws or practices are stopping them from giving it away the same way as everyone else.

James Thorpe – PlayStation Network Product Manager

“Hi, sorry for the confusion but there are a few countries – Germany, Greece and South Africa, that will be receiving their downloadable copy of LBP via a voucher email once the cancellation period (cooling off period) has expired. This is 7 days in South Africa and 14 days in Germany. Please refer to the offer Terms & conditions for more details by going to eu.playstation.com/legal and then clicking on the ‘PlayStation Plus Promotion’ terms just under the PSN heading”

Nothing from SK or Europe… the wall of silence is becoming quite telling.

I have sent a few more emails to other random Sony people now trying to find someone who can confirm something

I tried to find out about Germany and Greece (who also will be getting it late). I read that Germany will be getting it after a month… I’ll take a guess that we’ll also get it then. Which is pretty crappy but it’s better than nothing.

Try email James Thorpe or one of the guys on that update the EU blog. They generally answer all the questions people ask, or at least follow up on them.

I’ve been looking for his email address but my investigative skills apparently suck.

Can you send it my way? gavin@lazygamer.co.za

Well unless James Thrope is a burlesque photographer by night then I don’t think I can find him either. http://www.jthorpe.net/burlesque.html
