Oh dear. Bad news for those of you who were planning on being the Batman this Friday – especially if you planned on getting the collector’s editions. While PC gamers had already resigned themselves to waiting until Next month to play the game, it seems local gamers who ordered the collector’s editions for Xbox 360 and PS3 might be disappointed – as it appears, According to this post by ZAPS on the PS3ZA forums, that they’ve been delayed by a week.

That’s not all; it seems there might be a stock shortage with the regular vanilla editions as well, particularly the slightly fancy ones with the lenticular cover. Before you show up at the distributor’s offices with your pitchforks and torches, know that i’s not really their fault; the blame lies entirely at Warner Bros’ feet – as they’ve cut stock allocations.

There’s no indication as yet if this applies to the larger retailers like Kalahari.com and BTGames, or if it’s just affecting smaller outlets, but if you have pre-ordered, you might want to check in with your retailer of choice to make sure you won’t be spending Friday curled up in the foetal position, crying real Batman tears. We’ve contacted the distributor for comment, and will keep you updated with any feedback we receive.
