Arkham Knight should be available to buy on PC again soon

Arkham Knight was finally patched up well enough on Pc to make the game not only playable, but optimised enough for PC gamers with the requisite hardware to feel like their GPU purchasing decisions were justified. By all accounts, the PC version of Arkham Knight is finally in the state it should have been when it was released months ago.

It was so bad that the PC version was pulled from shelves, both retail and digital as Rocksteady, Warner Bros and Iron Galaxy scrambled to fix the game on the one platform that really should be able to hand everything thrown at it. If you’ve been waiting patiently, hoping to grab the latest Batventure on PC, you shouldn’t have to wait too long.

While Warner hasn’t announced a new date, they’ve sneakily included a worthwhile titbit in the press release for the game’s newest DLC (via VG247).

“Batman: Arkham Knight is based on DC Comics’ core Batman license and is available now for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system and Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft. The PC version of the game will be available in the coming weeks.”

It may be too little too late for Warner though; many Pc gamers won’t be interested, waiting for it to go for a song in one of Steam’s inevitable sales. It also means that the game is coming in time to compete with some of the year’s big heavy hitting blockbusters – like Call of Duty, Battlefront and Fallout 4.

I’ve not played Arkham Knight, and I have very little interest in doing so. For me, the series peaked with the very first game, and has become an increasingly cluttered and unfocused series since. Many say Arkham Knight is the best Batman game ever made, but it just doesn’t appeal to me – and the inclusion of forced driving stuff thanks to the Batmobile makes it even less appealing.

I have to agree with you here. I’ve lost all interest as well. Just too long and quite frankly I will not support a game that was released that buggy. Yes they’ve fixed it but I vote with my wallet.

This is a special bin buy for me

The long wait is the same reason I’ll probably never play GTAV. It came to old consoles, it came to new consoles, it got delayed, all the while getting blasted with GTA news every day for months, I moved on.

Exactly. By the time it’s out all the spoilers have been spoiled, all the gameplay has been showing for too long. Almost feels like a person’s already played the game.

I agree. Now they’re trying to sell it at 20% discount and making a huge thing about it.
It’s an OLD game. 20% is the difference our exchange rate makes. Rockstar can also suck it. They tried to sell GTA V with moerse shoddy sales tactics on Steam, clearly they’re just as bad as EA.

Plus it comes with Rockstar Social Club, which is the shittiest online client of the lot. Only reason people don’t complain about it more is because they only release one game every few years.

I’ve forgotten about Social Club. That thing really is a piece of crap.
Uplay is actually better, and that says a lot.
I remember when I was playing LA Noire. It takes longer to log into that forsaken client than to start and load the entire game.

I was playing LA Noire, got distracted, went back months later, forgot all about the social club thing. Started the game & went to get something to drink, came back to the PC & my screen was just black – not a damn thing on it, thought it had crashed hard or something but my keyboard lights still worked, was pressing buttons randomly until I hit Home – “Log in to Social Club” Thanks game, excellent prompting.

            Haha. Nice.
I cannot understand how some of these companies still have not realised that everyone hates their systems or clients, and that they would actually sell more games by removing it.

If anything at all they should buy back the game the people bought from them…. with interest due to discomfort for trying to play the game.

I bought it on launch day, got burned, left it in my steam library whilst I played the witcher 3 and my back log. Tried it after the patch plays really well. Awesome game too. Excited to get into it.

Oh and to the author of this post, you last me at, “the series peaked with the very first game”. You’re totally entitled to your opinion, but Arkham City isn’t called one of the best games of 2011 for nothing and with Arkham Knight’s troubles aside there is no denying that it’s a goty contender (even though fallout 4 will win).

City was, for me as well, just not fun. Lost focus, lost the urgency the first one had.

Hopefully for sale at a discount.
Not that I would buy it. But for those who would want to they shouldn’t try and push a fully priced old and initially broken game.
