Despite what certain senior staff members here think, Army of two: The 40th day will always hold a special, underrated spot in my heart, and not just because we got to indulge in a shootout inside one of our local embassies.

Sure, it may have had some generic gameplay, and it may have abused the word “bro” so much, that it almost killed the word, but the previous Army of Two title had some solid ideas regarding HUD and teamwork that just never managed to gel with the rest of the game.

It’s just a pity that a third game was never green-lit for production, as maybe the third time would have indeed been the charm for the fist-pumping mercenaries.

Just kidding! Of course a third game is on the way, right random voice actor for an undisclosed EA game?

Apparently, EA has been hard at work on the next title, which is currently under the name of Army of Four, in order to promote a four-player co-op system, while the game itself would run on a fancy-pants version of the Frostbite 2.0 engine from DICE.

There’s been very little heard from EA to confirm that a third game is in development however, at least until voice actor Joe Flanigan tweeted the following;

So, hopefully a third outing can reconcile what made the previous Army of Two game stand out, with some much-needed gameplay revisions and tweaks, alongside some marvellously fun co-op action.
