CRICKET!

I don’t love cricket, oh no. I love it! Oh yeah! Believe it or not, I actually dig cricket. Now, I may not have any understanding of what the more detailed terms of cricket are, such as wickets, runs, fours and Duckworth Lewis, but I still enjoy watching two teams of men attempt to clobber the crap out of one another to get their ball past the goal lines. And it looks like we’re in for a new round of Ashes Cricket this year!

Ashes Cricket 2013 will be throwing a googly onto PC, Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Wii U this year. 505 Games is behind the latest version of the gentlemen’s game, which will cover the 2013 Investec Ashes Series.

Which means that you’ll either get to play as the British, or the Australians (AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE! OY! OY! OY!). Still, if it’s anything like the last couple of games, more international teams will most likely be available for other versus options in the game. Oh wait, there’s no SA licensing for this game. Which means that you’ll have to play matches as Grey Sith, Machine Amplat, AC DC-Debeers and Morning Snorkel. South Africa does play in the Ashes right? Sports!

“We are delighted to be able to announce some of the key features for Ashes Cricket 2013,” said Ralph Pitt-Stanley, General Manager for UK & Export at 505 Games said in a press release sent to us by Apex Interactive.

This game has been created with real cricket fans and players in mind. The new engine allows players to mimic a cricketers most important attribute, his technique.

Are you obsessed with cricket? How’s that working out for you?

Reading this I worry they’ll make the same mistake as every cricket game that wasn’t Jonty Rhodes Cricket.

As awesome as it is to put nuance on the ball, it’s not really something you can do by quickly nudging the analog stick. Rather stick to straighforward stuff, with room for tampering…

Sweet, I hope it is actually a realistic sim this time where the players can miss the ball and drop catches. Would be awesome if it works with the motion plus of the Wii controller for extra accurate batting 😀

I love cricket, I love PC games…they just have never been able to get a decent game out in all my years on this planet. Would be awesome if this was actually half decent…

Last few Cricket titles were almost as dissapointing as the last couple of WWE and Rugby titles. I love the sport and only retired from playing last year, so maybe I’ll give this a looky-look on the Lazy Gamer review before I decide.

I am really beginning to lose my cool!! Who the hell decides which game gets the licencing rights to our sporting codes??? Cricket and rugby licences are given to the wrong bloody games you idiot!! Does this person even see the game or play it or at least get someone else to go check where the other countries put their licence too???? Rugby Challenge should have our licence not EA, and this cricket should have our licence not whoever the hell has it right now!!! AAAAARRRRGGGGG…………..

I’m starting to think it may be our sporting codes who are the problem.. I mean we are the #1 test team so it’s not like we can just be missed…

Yeah I hear you, but who does give out our licences? Is it the mother bodies, cause if it is SARU then I understand… They are overpaid idiots… I’m no Kings fan but they are really screwing them badly… If they can think up the stupid overseas players rule for the Kings then I can see them giving our licence to stupid EA… Really annoys me…
