Assassin's Creed Origins Curse of the Pharaohs delayed 2

Assassin’s Creed Origins is an Egyptian playground that tries every now and then to be grounded. When you’re not tagging enemies with your incredibly perceptive eagle, you’re generally running around with normal swords, axes and staffs to kill more normal human bad guys. Curse of the Pharaohs is Origins’ way to dive into the mysticism that surrounds ancient Egyptian culture. There are dead kings and queens, the undead hordes and grave robbers about. Oh, and a slight delay too.

Originally meant to launch on March 6th, Curse of the Pharaohs will now rise from the dead on March 13th instead. It’s just a week longer wait for the second piece of Origins DLC so far, and the latest in a string of updates that saw New Game+ and Discovery Mode added just last week. Ubisoft has kept up a good pace with these additional content bursts, with Curse of the Pharaohs being no small feat. it’s packed with new areas to explore (like the incredible Valley of the Kings across the Nile), enemies to fight and quests to undertake. You can check out a bunch of them in action below.

The afterlife is a big theme in the DLC, which is apt considering that Bayek will need to slay several high-level nobility in both his world and the next to truly be rid of them. The fictional setting for the new DLC comes by way of a bunch of grave robbers pillaging the living daylights out of Pharaoh tombs, which unleashes a curse across the land until everything can be put back where it’s meant to be. It sounds a lot like that one episode from Courage the Cowardly Dog, especially with this dude chanting “return the slab” over and over again.

Still it looks right at home with Origins’ revamped combat and gorgeous Egyptian setting to match. So look out for undead kings in the coming weeks.
