Assassin’s Creed Unity uniting the world

AC unity

Assassin’s Creed IV restored my faith in the AC franchise after that horrible installment featuring Conner, the worst AC character in history. I can actually get excited for the French Revolution-based Assassin’s Creed with a relatively easy heart. But it seems like Ubisoft has quite a few assassin’s going for our hearts.

During Ubisoft’s financial presentation, it was revealed that Assassin’s Creed Unity is being developed in Montreal, as well as at nine other studios. That’s right, studios in Montreal, Toronto, Singapore, Quebec, Annecy, Shanghai, Chengdu, Kiev, Montpellier and Bucharest are all working on the unified game. Here’s hoping they are able to unite their efforts.

Assassin’s Creed Unity will be coming Fall 2014 (that’s for Northern Hemisphere people, of course – we will get it in our Spring) to PC, Xbox One and PS4. But it’s just one game in the series that’s landing in that time period, according to Yves Guillemot. Another, as yet unannounced AC game will be landing on your older consoles at the same time. The rumored working title is Assassin’s Creed Comet and will put players in the role of a Templar named Shay.

I’m glad Ubisoft is keeping up the love on the older consoles, but without compromising game quality of the new releases. I’m sure making two games at once is a ton of work, but I’m glad that Unity will be specifically built for newer systems. Of course, it’s just going to highlight the differences with older consoles with Comet is released.

Are we going to burn out on Assassin’s Creed games, or does the annual release schedule just give us a reason to be happy every year? The franchise is really solid – as long as they keep the games unique and interesting while still giving fans what they want, I think we will happily lap up annual releases.

I don’t mind, I quite enjoy the AC games. Still need to play from Revelations onwards though, did get a little tired after 100 hours straight.

i still think Connor was ok, wooden and stiff, but that was his character, and as a quieter person, i could relate to him better than i could the pompous arrogant boring ezio.
i still maintain that if AC3 had a brighter colour palette like black flag, it would have felt like a much better game. I know it was supposed to be a dark and dirty american revolution, but still…
character wise, i think he was atleast better than Kenway from black flag, black flag was a brilliant game, but a boring story. enjoyed time that we had out of the animus, was refreshing when compared to boring desmond.

yearly franchise? yeah sure, I can dig it, so long as they dont turn their stories and characters into ezio again and they scale up their stories, i want the assassins to do something monumental again.

It’s a corny joke I know but it always gives me a chuckle :

How does a French dog bark? La woof!
How does a Jamaican dog bark? Woof man!

There were only 2 problems with AC3, it was made for next gen (reasons for being so glitchy) and it had an annoying character but started off with a character you could like
