When Fable III is released later this month, it’ll ship sans any of the promised Kinect compatibility. By the sounds of it, that’s a good thing.

Some of the binned mini-games have been detailed, and they sound pretty horrible.

Kotaku recently went to a Fable 3 media event in New Yor, and learned there that one of the intended Kinect-integrated mini-games was to involve throwing tomatoes at people, and another was centred around building statues. Neither of them sound like the revolutionary idea that Fable sets out to achieve.

“We could have done some trivial, gimmicky thing for Fable, some side, gimmicky thing, but I don’t think it’s the right thing,” Molyneux said in an interview with vg247 at Gamescom. “If we’re going to do something with Kinect on Fable it should be brilliant. It should be as good as it can be.

Throwing tomatoes? Hardly sounds brilliant to me. thankfully, the game – without gimmicky Kinect integration – looks pretty darned fantastic. if you haven’t seen the launch trailer, do so now!

look most fans of fable could care less if kinect was in it in any capacity just because kinect wont be in the hands of most gamers for a long time and with all the footage of fable 3 thats been seen no1 thinks about kinect its not a major factor in games yet write a story in a year or two when kinect matters and actually has games to speak of for it
