Batman: Arkham Knight announced for next-gen systems

Arkham Knight (1)

Did you think that Batman had a tough night in Arkham Asylum and Arkham City? Well wait until you get a load of this game where the dark knight joins forces with his greatest ally: His wheels.

Game Informer has gone live with their latest cover, and the rumours are true: Rocksteady is back in bat. UK Retailer GAME also accidently revealed the game, which describes the latest Arkham chapter as the “explosive finale in the Batman Arkham series” where players will “take to the rooftop and now – the roads of Gotham as for the first time the iconic Batmobile becomes driveable”. Check out the covers further below to see the sexy new Batmobile for yourself.

According to Game Informer, Gotham City is expanding, and will include an all new section, wider roads and a map that is “far larger than Arkham City”. This will be the final Arkham game from Rocksteady, which according to director Sefton Hill is “natural end for the story… we really want to go out in style.”

Arkham Knight (1)

Villains up for some punch-based therapy include Scarecrow in the lead, Harley Quinn, the Penguin and more. The master of fear has united the Gotham supervillain underworld, and is determined to finally take down the caped crusader once and for all. Looks like I was completely wrong about the next Batman game being based on either the Hush or Knightfall storylines.

Arkham Knight (2)

Batman: Arkham Knight will be out this year, most likely in October, and is scheduled for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. No mention yet of current-gen systems.

Come back at me when you have had your back broken by a roided up Spanish bastard, named a successor who turned out to be — ironically — batshit crazy and had to return to reclaim your mantle and legacy — I AM THE BATFAN! BATFAAAAAAAAN!

Pffft, ninja please. I’ve done that, and already had a psychotic vigilante assume my place while I jetted around the world and got involved in a kidnapping mystery that had my doctor rediscover her psychic powers which she used to heal my spine before mentally retarding herself.

Also, Bane is from Santa Prisca, not Spain. OOOOOOHHHHHHH!

It’s part of Caribbean, but it’s known Bane speaks with a Spanish accent so HA! Spaniard by technical proxy! Also, whatever happened to Dr. Kinsolving (was it Kin or King?) — wait no, that isn’t the point.

Darryn, let us not fight. You can have [place where you live] and I shall take [place where I live]. We shall form Batman South AfrINCa. The Batfans of the world need to unite and not fight. We must defend the cowled one from those heretics who preach the false prophets Nolan and Snyder. We can not do it alone.

I can live with this! Minus the hating Snyder part. WAT UP WIT DAT?

I’ll give him Watchmen and I’m sure Man of Steel 2: Justice League will be better than MoS, but he’s not the right dude for Batman. Superman — sure, no problem. Batman? Nah.

Give me some Darren Aronofsky — if someone is there to control him — or a little Alex Proyas (is that dude still alive even). Perhaps break me off a piece of Sam Mendes. I want a fighting, gadget using, super genius, utterly insane Dark Knight this time. Give us that Gothic chic not just boom-boom-pow. I’d add Ben Affleck, but… I don’t know. I don’t know.

They may only refer to it as “current gen” once they’ve mastered and unlocked each consoles’ full potential…..

It is funny, they are working on a DLC and a new game but they still have not fixed the Batman Arkham Origins …

Yeah… Origins isn’t their baby – it’s the bastard child no-one seems to love… Not even it’s parents / developers (“Warner Bros Montreal” and “Splash Damage”). I do find it slightly ridiculous that they don’t want to fix the actual game, yet want to continue pumping out DLC…

But I must say, I kinda like Origins though. Sure it has issues and does absolutely nothing new for the franchise, but it’s so similar to Arkham City, that it wins on ‘nostalgia’ points alone. Can be plain fun to play. 🙂

But I’m truly excited for Arkham Knight – It’ll be made by Rocksteady, who know their sh$t, and be a true return to form for The Bat!

yeap, they got 300 years of comics to use for a storyline.
i dont think theres much to worry about keeping it fresh.

zero problems with going for a yearly batman

Not sure…..If this is indeed a next gen title and not a rushed port maybe! Will make up my mind closer to release as more info becomes available! At least they have some time to fully utilise next gen capabilities so hopefully they do so!

Rocksteady has been working on this game for quite a while and if the news is correct they were prepping for next gen from scratch. that is also why Arkham origins wasnt included in next gen launch.WB studios focused on current gen.
