Batman: Arkham Knight officially delayed to 2015

Arkham Knight (3)

What was once a rumour is now a fact. You won’t be seeing Batman zipping around Gotham in the Batmobile this year, as the dark knight will instead arrive in 2015.

So why is the caped crusader missing out on a 2014 round of fighting crime? To put it simply, Rocksteady need the extra time to give the game the attention and polish that it deserves.

“We just want to make this the best experience that we can, and that takes time,” Rocksteady Studios marketing manager Guy Perkins said to GameSpot.

We feel that we have an absolutely awesome game in the works, and we want to make it as great as it possibly can be. We just need more time to do that. If we didn’t give the team more time to do it, then we would be releasing something that we weren’t happy with. We want to make sure we’re absolutely nailing it 100 percent.

Still, the wait should be worth it. Gotham is getting a makeover, the enemies have been ramped up and the game looks like it’s firing on all cylinders on new-gen and PC platforms. And don’t forget the Batmobile, which will play a crucial role in the game when it launches next year.

How did the combat compare to Arkham City? AC always concerned me because it was simply too damned good, meaning that it was always going to be difficult not to go downhill from there 😛

Pretty much the same and you have shock gloves to help you as well. The game itself felt sub par to AC though

The combat felt sloppy and like it was mostly the game’s fault if you got hit, where-as AC’s combat was tight, controlled really well, and flowed smoothly. It was always your fault when you got hit, and it forced you to practice.

Everyone will be all mature and sensible about this delay now, but 12 months from now when the game finally comes out then it will get anti-hyped to shit because of the delay…. because gamer.

Interesting how suddenly every major AAA release is delayed for additional polish. Wonder what could have caused that. *cough*BF4*cough*

Rather a delayed game than a completely unpolished and buggy piece of shit game IMO. Getting so tired of these hyped up games that we cant play for four months after release because we are waiting on patches to get some kind of redemption out of our pre-order faith.

But seriously, this was the only reason I was considering getting an xbox one. I’d rather them have more games that interest me before I get one, so this could be a blessing.

The one thing all these delays confirm in my mind – console peeps and developers were not truly ready for new gen. I am not complaining, but seems it could have been a tad early.
