Battlefield 4 confirmed for next gen – You don’t say!

you dont say

Sometimes news isn’t really news, but kind of obvious, so I’m just going to rant about that a little bit in between telling you that Battlefield 4 will be released on next-gen consoles.

Frank Gibeau, EA Labels President revealed the above mentioned fact in a blog on the Official EA website. If you think about it, when was Battlefield 4 ever NOT going to be released on next-gen consoles? Since EA has tons of money and have delivered breathtaking Battlefield games, yes “breathtaking” (just play some Battlefield 3 on PC at full graphics :P) it’s kind of a given that they’ll deliver the next battlefield at the best possible quality. Can you imagine the response to: “Battlefield 4 will not be released on next-gen consoles”? I don’t think EA would settle for that.

“We’ve been investing and innovating on new technology for months. Console partners who have seen our early work agree, EA’s next-gen software is nothing short of astonishing. Gibeau wrote.”

This just referring to my overall point, Battlefield 4 on next-gen consoles was a given. And now that we know, because we didn’t already expect it – welcome to the visual paradise PC gamers have experienced way before you did.

And honestly, it’s about time. I’m more excited for better console graphics and performance than sour about it as a PC gamer. This will probably drive me to play a lot more console games once I’ve sold my organs on the black market to be able to afford next-gen consoles.

Maybe in the next gen they’ll be able to have 48-player matches…

Just so long as it finally buries that tripe Call of Duty, then I don’t care which gen it’s on.

You know that won’t happen, right? The CoD killer hasn’t been created yet… And if CoD falls, it’ll be on its own merit. I’m hoping that the next Infinity Ward title finishes crapping on the franchise.

The CoD killer for me was any CoD game after CoD:MW2. Simply k@k! Always the same shit. And obviously when BF3 came out, I hardly touched any other shooter. So with that said, BF3 was essentially my CoD killer 🙂

Yours, but I’m talking about the masses. I play it on PC more than I played MW2 and Blops 2 combined, but the CoD killer will be the one that manages to snatch a lot more people than you and me and the 10ish million copies sold.

True. But lemmings will be lemmings 😛 I was a hardcore CoD fan, till MW2. The masses just doesn’t want to move on, they’re fixated on it. Indoctrinated if you will. Believing it’s the best game ever… I just can’t see it that way anymore.

It does seem as if he let the cat out of the bag with that one, but I’m still in denial till EA officially announces BF4 for the PS4. I’m just sad since this may lead to me buying a PS4 and my wife subsequently leaving me (probably for some banana).
