Earth.Water.Fire.Air. Only the Avatar can master all four elements and fight a ridiculously over the top monster battle as I hypothesise what can possibly happen when the studio behind Bayonetta and Vanquish give their own spin on that popular franchise.
In news that I absolutely would not have seen coming in a million years, one of my favourite game development studios is indeed tackling one of my favourite cartoons. And that’s about all I know actually. Here’s the first teaser trailer which hints at some of the action that will take place, as this game is set between season 2 and 3 of the Nicklelodeon series:
And then we have some screenshots, which show Korra on the move, some pro-bending competition and a fight or two with various Equalist forces:
If you have zero idea what I’m talking about, then you’re missing out on one of the best cartoons in recent memory. A successor to the original show, Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Legend of Korra follows a new Avatar and her fight to save the world from all manner of trouble. Over two seasons, we’ve seen the rise of an anti-vending movement, the return of the spirit world and the origins of the entire season as viewers learnt how mankind discovered the ability to bend the elements in the first place.
And that’s not even mentioning the fantastic animation and action that comes with each episode. Further details on the game are locked up tight right now, but I’m curious to see how much content Platinum can throw into a downloadable title. Fans can also vote on their favourite box art, before the game launches:
Big news! The Legend of Korra video game is launching this Fall on Xbox One and Xbox 360 (via Xbox Game Store), PS3 and PS4 (via PlayStation Network) and Steam… and YOU can pick the packaging. Check out these concept art designs and let us know which should be the final cover art… GO!
Needs more Pabu. The third season of the show kicks off this Friday as well. Which means that right now, it’s a good time to be a fan of bending.

Feck! That was terrible and had so much potential. WTF were they thinking? It was a simple story and they stuffed it up completely.

I thought it was closer to 180 minutes?
No, no. There are worse movies. Star Command. Hobgoblin.
One of my friends said Star Command was like a porn movie with no sex,

I have tried several times, it just seems soulless. And my wife and I have watched the entire Aang story twice, last time in Dec-Jan, between feeding baby, burping baby (she was born end November) and so forth. It and Raising Hope were our de-stress-ors.

Aand’s story was definitely better overall, Korra’s is kinda hit or miss a lot of the times, at times it can be great but then others it can be quite terrible.

who knows? it is definitely the type of series that could actually do well with the N crowd if the game is made well.

More importantly: Do I want to play Bayonetta? It seems too plat-former and actiony for my linking. Any ideas?
Cause, you know, all about me. 🙂

Honestly, I’d prefer to see an avatar game about a more unknown avatar like Wan, Roku, Kyoshi or someone new entirely. But this is a welcome surprise 🙂 hopefully it’s decent

I think a free form adventure game would be better than just basing it straight off the show.
While Korra would let us master all the elements, it would be better if we could play as custom character that we could choose which style of Bending (Other than Air for story reasons) they use (or maybe even non-benders that could either use technology or pressure point combat).
You could then simply have the story run parallel to some of the show’s events of even go to different parts of the world that they haven’t bothered to touch on yet since the time-skip between Aang and Korra.
