Bioshock definitely looking better on the PS3

Dave Wells, who is a contributor at PSU was given some hands on time with Bioshock for PS3 and has had a few things to say about how it looks.

While many gamers have been wondering about whether the game will look as good, the same, or better than the Xbox 360 original, we can finally hear what someone who has seen it running has to say now that this Mr. Wells has tried it for himself. We obviously can’t put all of our faith in his words, but why not find what he thinks anyway?

Wales reports that:

“One of the very first things you’ll notice within BioShock [PS3] is that all anti-aliasing issues are now gone. There were absolutely no edging issues or jaggedness to any portions of what was displayed on screen,”

“I almost felt like I was staring at a redesigned title.”

I am glad to hear of news like this. Obviously, visuals aren’t everything, but just the other day I put in my Bioshock disc to check something and I couldn’t help but feel once again that the games visuals felt a bit spoilt by some really annoying jaggies, ultimately making the graphics feel like they lack polish.

PS3 owners who haven’t had a chance to play Bioshock on the Xbox 360 or PC yet are in for a real treat. While I am not so sure that the game deserved all the praise it received, it is still a damn good game and an experience that shouldn’t be missed.

To better the xbox360 version would be quite a task since it already looked excellent. Kudos if the managed it.

I actualy finished bioshock again last month, brilliant game. I discovered that there’s a frame limiter option in the options menu. If you disable the frame limiter, the game runs 60fps. 😯 It looks much better IMO.

This game is so awesome I might even buy it again on the PS3, if the extra DLC content seems worth it and the visuals are improved a bit (traded my 360 copy a while back).

Well the guys from PSU are usually very reliable and don’t contribute to fanboy nonsense, at least he has played and finished the game on the 360.

I believe there will also be some extra content in the form of minigames in the PS3 version. I think this as a tradeoff for FFXIII is more than a fair deal 🙂

Bioshock devs have already said that the graphics will be on-par with 360 not surpass it. This guy is either a super-noob or super-fanboy. He even says that the gameplay is totally different (feels like hes playing a different game)- which we all know is a load of crap. The only sites that have published this article are PSU and this site, which are both PS sites. Eurogamer, IGN and gamespot have not because they’ve played previews and they know that this is a load of BS. Eurogamer have even said in their preview that the graphics are not better than other versions.

One reason to get the PS3 version though is the DLC, which is looking super cool!

I don’t think anyone should doubt that this will look better solely because the developers have had time to work on it. The same happened with Oblivion. The crappy thing is that is just takes so long for PS3 owners to get some of these titles it’s better to buy the X-Box release and enjoy it now (If you can). I personally thought it was a good game but nothing revolutionary.

Lol, you must be some kind of moron. Calling THIS site a PS site? You clearly haven’t been here before.

As for what the devs say, it is very possible that they said that to not piss off their MS customers. Why shouldn’t a game that’s had much more time to be worked on look better? It’s not an insult to the XboX they have put in extra effort cause they had extra time, it’s only logical.

No, he says “The only sites that have published this article are PSU and this site, which are both PS sites.” referring to Lazy.

I don’t know anyone who has been accused of being a MS fanboy more, i should know, i’ve called him one a few times 😉

I think the difference here is that no one expected Bioshock to ed up on the PS3, it was always thought of as an XboX exclusive.

PSU just got hammered by Firefox for being a Phishing site, so that should say quite enough . . . 😯

Don’t be ghey. I’m referring to talk playstation and PSU. Lazy doesn’t count cause he hasn’t seen a preview of the game to judge for himself.

It was said to be released on Xbox then PC, with a slight chance of it making the PS3 platform

More money for the developers in my opinion
