It’s out. It’s finally, finally out today. After months of waiting and a delay or two, my cookbook is at last out on store shelves today, alongside several legal waivers. By the way, so is that Bioshock Infinite game. And the PC version is getting some extra graphical love by the looks of things.
Provided that you have enough of that RAM junk in the trunk, you might just be living up to that PC Master Race slogan when you start exploring the floating city of Columbia today. Nvidia has released some new graphical drivers for the game, which Nvidia says will make the game prettier than that lady at a bar after you’ve had about way too many beersh to drink hic*.
The 314.22 drivers will supposedly up the performance by around 41%, according to a field test done with a GTX 680 card that was running the game at a resolution of 2560×1600 on the Ultra settings. These new drivers are also going to affect Tomb Raider, which under the same conditions can see upwards of a 71% increase in performance and fabulous hair.

Always love the fact that nVidia releases drivers that focus on performance for specific games as they come out 🙂 One reason why I prefer nVidia over AMD graphics

Remember, it’s up to the developers to make sure it works on current hardware and software. Not the other way round. It always works but it’s nice to be able to get further optimization done post release and so quickly by nVidia themselves instead of waiting for the devs to release performance patches 🙂

Nope. nVidia give value added service by making their games run better than on the AMD cards as soon as they can so that user’s can experience the games as best they can 🙂

So because the Games are developed with AMD Optimisation (Crysis3, Tomb Raider, Bioshock etc) and work out the Box amazingly fast, therefore nVidia is better?

they have to release drivers cause only once every 5 years a game comes along that works without new drivers. Thats why i like AMD

No one said the game doesn’t work on nVidia. The game does. It works just fine. But to have the drivers further optimised to squeeze out more performance is a plus.
If AMD had to try and optimize drivers for games as they come out they would be able to take a greater market share IMHO.
I don’t see a downside at all in having drivers that work already get optimized further for an even better experiance. Rather a changing works than stale drivers that are outdated and could perform better if some time was taken

I’mnot specifically talking about Bioshock.Lets have a quick recap. The driver that was easy to hack into your system of 2001-ish. The driver that blew up your card in 2010. Need for speed(can’t remember witch one) requiring a specialized driver that only made NFS work and broke the other games and tomb raider not working off the bat. That is why i prefer AMD.
