PS3 Bioshock looks worse than 360 version

This is being marked as a rumour at the moment but it should be confirmed soon enough (if it’s true).

According to CVG.com the PS3 version of Bioshock is absolutely fantastic and includes new never before seen areas and puzzles. It doesn’t drop the ball in any way and has walked away with an awesome review score of 93/100

However it’s not all roses for the PS3 fans out there, apparently even after being  developed a year after the 360 version it still hasn’t managed to match the visuals seen on the 360 version last year. The developers have always said they wanted to achieve parity with the 360 version but it seems they dropped short of this goal.

According to CVG

“If you’re a lucky multi-format owner who favours visuals over some extra puzzle levels, you’re probably better off with 360’s original. Otherwise, you needn’t panic: Rapture shines on every format and plays identically”

Now if I had the choice I would go with extra puzzle levels every time but the fact that the PS3 version was unable to match the 360 version in visuals is horrifying…

The 360 version wasn’t perfect in the visuals department either so we really could have expected an improvement… as they did for the PC version.

Spin it anyway you want, it’s not good news for the PS3

Damn, now I have this urge to play Bioshock again.

On the 360 off course, after all, it’s the superior machine.

It will be a shame if they couldn’t achieve the equal visuals with the 360. It does not mean that the game will be ugly though…

No I am pretty sure it is still going to look fantastic…

Just not as fantastic as it should look

The funny thing is that you can play this game on a R2000 Xbox360 arcade and it looks better than on the R4500 PS3.
I wish I had a PS3 for the exclusives though but thats all.

Wow. Now that is just disgusting if it is true.

That extra year should be more than enough to surpass the 360 version. Not just try gaining parity.

You’ve gotta put a pretty unique “spin” on a 93/100 review to sum it up as “not good news for the PS3”.

Are you at all suprised? Googling “graphics bioshock ps3 vs xbox360” brings up a lot of links about how identical the graphic interface is. Only on LazyXboxFanboy will there be some Sony bashing 😀

So old links trump new news? 😀

I didn’t do the comparison so why are you shooting the messenger?

CVG are quite the respectable site and if you didn’t spot it in the article I did say I would actually choose the PS3 version over the 360 version…

But lets not let that get in the way of a good witch hunt…

I agree Fudzy, Iv seen article saying the PS3 version looks better and there were subsequent article from the devs saying its only natural for this to have happened as it has had more time to develope.
Now you get an article saying the xbox is the best and its all doom and gloom for the ps3.
    Sigh 🙄

Did anybody really honestly expect a UT3 engine based game to look better on a PS3 than a Xbox360?

    Really Really?

And does it really matter? If you have a 360, you would prolly have played Bioshock by now…

If you have a Ps3, go gt it!

And if you are on the shelve… get a 360 Arcade all ready.

I did actually post about that news as well.. however this is newer and therefore more current…

But if you read the article you will see it actually recommends the PS3 version, BUT the graphics are not as good

There you go. No need to panic PS3 fans.

Well the 4500 ps3 can do a lot more other things that the 2000 xbox can not , so what is the point.

well obviously it doesn’t look as good, because the PS3 is kuk, only slightly more powerful than the Wii, maybe they should port Wii games to the PS3 instead :P… erm i mean the developers were lazy cuz they were out to make a quick buck so they didn’t optimize as well as they should have 🙂

Lol, don’t you know everything looks better on a PS3 always and forever!?!?

Resistance 1 is so light years ahead of Gears of war, you insult it but uttering the name Gears of war in the same sentence!

That’s why they call it “virtual” reality I guess 😉

Personally I’d take the extra puzzles, smile and wave 😛

The point is that the PS3 is a great Blu-Ray player

The packaging of the Blu Ray player was pivotal in winning the format war, and will pay dividends in the long run for Sony. But as any PC gamer will tell you their memory infrastructure is sorely lacking and could have been addressed for peanuts, I just don’t get the logic here. Maybe the PS4 will allow you to upgrade memory as well as the HDD. Are you listening Sony? That would solve 90% of the video issues and probably eliminate the need for mandatory installs. Does anyone know of a hack to increase the memory?

bad idea. The big appeal of consoles is you buy hardware, and all software works. Having a PS4 with 8GB RAM, and then finding out that MGS6 needs 16GB RAM is something that needs to be avoided.

lol, like PS3 fanboys who cannot wait for 4D! Xbox fanboys still cling to the belief that big GPU equals uberest graphics.

No bad… I have an intense dislike for installs and upgrading of drives.. could you imagine how badly I would have to complain if I was told I can now upgrade the memory of my console 😯

I don’t want a PC I want a console, I must be able to buy any game on the shelf and be playing it within 2 minutes of putting it in the drive.
