Bioware slams Mass Effect Andromeda DLC cancellation rumours

Mass Effect Andromeda is not the strongest game in the series, with fans and critics alike bashing the game for its uneven, sophomoric writing. For what it’s worth, I liked it more than most – but it did have its share of problems all through its five-year development.

Says Kotaku’s Jason Schreier:

“The development of Andromeda was turbulent and troubled, marred by a director change, multiple major re-scopes, an understaffed animation team, technological challenges, communication issues, office politics, a compressed timeline, and brutal crunch.”

It seemed plausible that, with the series on hiatus, that polishing and future DLC work on it was outsourced. Work, it was rumoured, that had been cancelled.

Bioware and EA have denied those rumours.

“While we can’t talk about future yet, I can def say we build our own dlc/patches for our games and don’t hire fake companies to do so,” Mass Effect: Andromeda producer Fernando Melo tweeted.

Says Producer on Mass Effect, Mike Gamble.

Furthermore, EA has come out saying that they’ve never worked with Sinclair Networks.

“We’ve never worked with Sinclair Networks and they had nothing to do with the development of Mass Effect: Andromeda,” an EA rep told PC Gamer. “Beyond that we don’t have any news to share at this time regarding DLC.”

Bioware is still unusually quiet about additional content for the game, which is an odd situation in an age where season passes for future content are the norm.

My only remaining question is if the Sinclair post was from a hoax company why did they pull the post? Surely leaving it up would be funnier..

I actually enjoyed ME:A to a point. It is nowhere near the quality of Mass Effect 1 in story though and some things are way more tedious than planet scanning in Mass Effect 2. But it was still fun.

      Enjoyable but flawed.
It was fun diving into the ME world again, the worlds were interesting and some of the factions were great.
But the clunky mechanics, rushed bromances/relationships and level of space cheese in that writing… cmon, Paragon does not mean mushy space prince.

This now makes me wonder, what did that Sinclair company then hope to gain from this? Is someone trolling? What? Cause doing a Google search, there does seem to be a company by that name.
Was someone trying to sabotage them? Or are they hoping for exposure?

Jason Schreier’s middle name is Fake News, and he’ll never get a job at the Washington Post. Ah, now that that’s out, I have very little faith that Bioware could produce a piece of DLC that could salvage the absolute mess that is Minor Effect Andromeda.

If they concentrated on more bug fixes , dialog changes and performance fixes it might have been a bit better and tolerable, instead we got patches and patches for butt f$*#ing , nice work Bioware !!
