If there’s one aspect of gaming that we don’t see too much of, it’s expansion packs. Gaming calls that kind of content DLC, but it’s smaller and usually less satisfying. Diablo 3 is bringing back the extra content in 2014 with Reaper of Souls, which includes a new character class known as the Crusader. And at Blizzcon, that class made a believer out of me.
Simply put, the Crusader is built like a tank, can take a licking and still keep kicking. Compared to the Barbarian, he lacks the raw power, but a superior defense that is fortified with several buffs more than makes up for it.
I played as the Crusader on both Playstation 4 and PC. Armed and in the mid-30s level, the Crusader has some nifty skills. Flails and maces are his weapon of choice, with shields backing up his defense. Of the abilities available, I could activate Consecration, which afforded me a circle of protection that healed my character and co-op partner, while dealing damage to any enemy who entered it.
Steed Charge allowed me to escape having my skull turned into a marital aid while also dealing bonus fire damage as I rampaged on a fiery horse. While Fist of the Heavens called down the thundah and brought the smackdown in the form of a heavy bolt that could also chain itself to attack other minions around the original target.
Last but not least was Falling Sword, an all or nothing attack that deals quadruple damage to a single enemy, as the Crusader launches himself forward. Diablo 2 fans who spent many hours on their Paladin will most likely love this class, but at the same time, it’s enough of a departure for fans wanting something different.

I never enjoyed the paladin class much really. It’s more a co-op class than anything. Still glad they’re doing expansions the way games used to do. In the good ol’ days.

They released it on console. Fixed everything.
Now, they’re bringing the console features to the PC (besides always online) and adding an exp pack. Its a win all around.

Blizzard have been doing some really awesome work since they broke away from Vivendi! Hope these are just signs of more good things to come.

I think the MMO genre needs a refresh in general. Like what they’re doing with the MOBA genre in Heroes of the Storm. It sounds rad so far.

Lazygamer’s reporting sucks these days. Not only are we reading stuff that websites like Kotaku and IGN have reported on already, it misleads us with this reporting. Reading the articles are like navigating a minefield full of grammar and spelling errors. When trying to help and correct they get all defensive with their READERS!!
Reviews are STILL LATE! We can’t count on them to review a game in time for us to decide whether to get the game or not on day one. By the time their reviews come out the masses of people playing the game have had enough word of mouth going around for us to decide.
It is like they cater to the few regular community members and try to entertain them. Not realising that there are thousands, if not more, readers who do not post comments.
The community sucks and trolls every newcomer who post a view different to their collective sheep mentality. If they are not careful trolls will come to play and the whole comments section will be a trolling session. I used to love this site and posted regularly. But I can’t see why I must receive my news late, reviews late, read through spelling and grammar errors and then deal with a bunch of arrogant, smug community members when commenting and looking for constructive debate. (Try it, as a newcomer go and defend your choice of choosing Xbox).
It simply is not worth it anymore, I will go get my news fresh and NEW on other sites.

I have defended Xbox many times. As a newcomer I found the community quite friendly actually.

I can’t comment about the news being late as this is the only gaming site I go on. So for me, it is always news. Written in a way I particularly like, the writers don’t take themselves too seriously. Which does not mean the content is lacking, the things they report on I think they take very serious. Reviews are late, because as they mentioned so many times they receive the review copies late. Not their fault, man. I’ve been on this site since the early years, it has not changed much in terms of content.
I can’t comment on the community as I very rarely comment, but I have never seen any of the regulars being rude or abusive to any person. Trust me, this site is probably the safest if you don’t like trolling. Maybe you got trolled because of the way you voiced your opinion? Or you ran into the odd troll that lurks.
Come back dude and comment and I promise you, you will have a positive experience. If you changed your name that is 😛

You make some valid points. But I prefer late reviews. The joke that was Diablo 3 and Diablo 3 Console reviews on Lazygamer was because it was rushed and unconsidered. I’d rather have the reviewer give some insightful opinion than rush it. If you are not willing to wait you are going to get bit by marketing and hype.
That said LG is a good news site and competing against industry giants like Kotaku and IGN should be seen as a triumph with a lot of hard work ahead. And I will keep supporting the err mostly local guys 🙂

Apologies I’ve been away so didn’t hear about this until now and I’m sorry you feel that way.
We have had complaints about the community before and we have raised it with them and in general I feel things are way better now. People are generally friendly in the comments but lets not kid ourselves this is the internet and people are going to be dicks at times. And really is there any site that can discuss platform choice without it going the way of the toddlers?
I don’t think we’ve ever been defensive against readers, if you experienced that let me know (gavin@lazygamer.net) and I will sort it out. We love our readers and always respect what they have to say.
As for the spelling mistakes, well Geoff will be duly whipped and it is something we are working hard on stomping out.
Witth late reviews, well we can only review what we are given else we have to wait until retail date before getting the news out there,. Certain companies *cough* EA *cough* never give us early code and in fact normally only send a review copy days after retail release. We are doing our best to fight that but in the end they know we are blatantly honest in the reviews and as such don’t always want us to review their game early.
General lesson for all gamers, if a review isn’t out before the game is released then don’t buy it. It normally means it isn’t very good.
