Bloodrayne

It’s been 7 years since we last saw a Bloodrayne game. If you don’t recall, Bloodrayne was a mildly successful duo of games that featured a sexy, crimson-haired Dhampir named Rayne – a half vampire, half human – hell bent on killing vampires (and Nazis). I’ll admit that I enjoyed the first game quite a bit, probably because Rayne was hot and brandished twin swords. Well, she’ll be back soon, hitting XBLA and PSN as a downloadable title.

Bloodrayne: Betrayal is a 2D side-scrolling action game, filled with the blood-soaked vampire slayings fans of the series would expect.

“It’s been a long time since Rayne captivated players with her bold mix of brutality and beauty, and fans have been hounding us to release another BloodRayne installment,” said Majesco Entertainment’s Jesse Sutton. “We are excited to once again partner with the creative and committed team at WayForward to bring Rayne back. BloodRayne: Betrayal delivers the action-packed experience franchise fans have been waiting for in a digital format that’s also accessible for new players unfamiliar with Rayne’s over-the-top, stylized gameplay.”

I don’t really know why they’re flattening a game that did pretty well with all three dimensions, but it’s in the capable hands of WayForward Technologies, who’re done a fine job resurrecting old titles with their Boy and his blob remake for the Wii, and the excellent Contra 4 on the DS. Here’s an entirely uninformative teaser trailer, showing you absolutely nothing. If anything, it has to be better that Uwe Boll’s godawful movies .
