Borderlands 2 reveals a new Vault Hunter

POOOOOOOOOOOOWER!

While Gearbox may be tugging at their collar with a stifled doh! every time someone brings up Aliens: Colonial Marines, at least that other game that they actually worked on is still doing well. With three out of four DLC packs down and one more to go, what’s next for Borderlands 2? Why, an experimental Vault Hunter, that’s what.

At a panel at SXSW, Gearbox confirmed that a new Vault Hunter would be arriving soon, with Polygon sneakily recording the teaser for said character.

“Deep beneath Pandora, an experiment has escaped,” the teaser video said for those of you who are being monitored by your office pit boss. “Bandits beware, a new vault hunter is coming. More mayhem awaits.”

Judging by the teaser, I wouldn’t be too surprised to see that new character utilising a melee style of special ability, much like what Brick used in the original Borderlands. Gearbox franchise director Matt Armstrong wouldn’t reveal the exact release for the DLC during the panel but he did say to Joystiq that “DLC is announced on a very tight schedule, and I don’t think you’ll have to wait long until you see that character.”

Just remember, that new character will cost ya, and won’t be available as part of the season pass content. And if you’re still playing the game, here’s a Shift code for you to grab a new golden key.
