Before major heists, players must conduct several side missions to prep. For this mission in particular, you must pick up boilers suits, choose masks, collect the vehicles necessary for the job, and find a spot to hide the getaway car With a land mass 3.5 times the size of Red Dead Redemption, the world of Grand Theft Auto V is absolutely massiveWhen the shootouts begin in missions with multiple characters, you can switch between them freely Certain boats contain scuba equipment, which allows you to search the ocean bed for shipwrecks and other points of interestRockstar has added destructibility to certain objects in the game, like these construction barriers The Ballers and The Lost return to GTA V, bringing two very different gang culturesThe wanted system has changed slightly in GTA V. You can still outrun the copys by staying out of their line of sight, but you can also find good hiding spots to wait them out Some missions require a character to serve as a lookout, using binoculars to spot an incoming threat or the target for the heistGTA V contains the largest skybox Rockstar has ever created for a game, giving you plenty of room to fly planes around Players can spend their hard earned money on luxury cars, helicopters, marinas, and even businessesEach character has stats that can be upgraded in categories like strength, shooting, stealth, driving, flying and lung capacity For Grand Theft Auto V, players can customize their vehicles on a scale similar to Midnight Club: Los Angeles

Things I’m excited about

  • An open world 3.5 times bigger than Red Dead Redemption
  • Flying
  • Masks… I don’t know why I just am

Things I’m worried about

  • Underwater levels
  • Swapping characters
  • Overly boring side quests

That’s me, so what are your thoughts?

This from GameInformer is why IM SOLD BABY!!!

Biggest world in the series’ history. Aaron Garbut says it is larger than RDR, GTA IV, and SA combined including interior spaces – that’s friggin’ big!

Map includes city, wilderness, desert, Mt. Chiliad, military base, and fully detailed ocean floor including coral beds

Can switch between three protagonists at any time off-mission, certain missions allow changes during them

Multiple protags chosen due to IV+EFLC success

Switching reduces “flat spots” during stories

Play as protagonist and antogonist, stories cross each other

Switching protags is like entering Google Earth

Michael: Old guy from first trailer, retired
bank robber, in witness protection, lives in Rockford Hills (Similar to
Beverly Hills), has wife (Amanda) and children (Tracy the teen and Jimmy
    the 20-year-old)

Trevor: Balding guy living in a trailer in the desert of Blaine County, friend of Michael

Franklin: repossesses cars, possibly one of many tasks from his boss.

Pedestrians have more reactions to you (giving the middle finger, etc)

Can douse things in gas and leave a trail for later ignition

    Ammunation is back

All protags have lives outside of your control

Each protag has skillsets and personalities

    Complex missions happen earlier

    Many heist missions

Protags can work together in certain missions, sometimes all three

    Rappeling, possibly off-mission ability

    Planes available very early

Many side missions and minigames including yoga and a full golf course. Some minigames specific to a protag.

No RPG elements (fat/muscle) but you can change clothing like GTA IV

TV will return among other “odd” things for a video game

No girlfriends but there are regular friends/family for each protag:

    Lamar: crazy friend of Franklin

Amanda: Michael’s wife in a rocky relationship

    Jimmy: Michael’s pothead son

    Ron: Trevor’s paranoid neighbor

Some familiar faces from GTA IV will return but no Niko and no PS2-era characters.

No property but plenty of other stuff to do with money throughout your gameplay experience

    The phone makes a return

Random, optional side quests like in RDR will return. Talk with hitchhikers, nab a purse-snatcher, etc

Crews will be improved for GTA V’s multiplayer

Less celebrities in the cast like GTA IV

Extremely detailed world including pedestrians and lawn sprinklers.

Most vehicles of any GTA game.

Dude Im only worried about the amount of bugs it is going to have considering every eco system has its own animals and the 0.5 of the 3.5x bigger than red dead is underwater with its own eco system and divers.

I’m not a huge GTA player, but I’ve played them all, Rockstar generally seems to be on top of bugs. I mean there will always be bugs in open world games but compared to Bethesda, Rockstar is generally better at it. I’m just worried about everyone’s expectations about the game again

Smart Phone. It will be like your real phone, that is used for all the real life SOCIAL features like recording shit and sharing it with your friends. It is basically the On-Line feature.

In GTA IV your phone served many uses. Mission bosses would give you
work and friends would contact you. The phone also provided a small menu
to access multiplayer among other things. A phone features again in
Grand Theft Auto V. Multiplayer and other menus have been removed but
the phone has other modern features of today’s smart phones. There are 9
apps, of which 6 of them are:

            Camera
            Internet
            Contacts
            Social Media
            Calendar
            Mission Replay
Pictures taken with the phone can be shared through the Social Club
website – and likely any other place you wish to show off your virtual
            photography. iGT

            Its all useless

LA Noire!! No technology,no computers = super awesome, i bought it on special last week and loving it. not as in depth as GTAIV, simpler….better…

I hate all that SOCIAL shit but the multi player was a bit of a success in GTAIV so expect more of that.

I need to try out some Yoga after a tennis game. Then do some Scuba diving in the morning to find some treasure to get money to buy some property so I can store all of my customized guns, cars and loot from the odd robbery AKA HEAT style.

Dude, I loved CJ so much that I am only going to play as Franklin. You do not have to play the other characters during story mode either. You can do what you like. They do drop hints like during a robbery they will tell the driver to distract the cops. So you can either warp into the driver and do a car chase or let the AI do it. Its going to be wicked 😛

The world size stat is probably bloated, as it now includes the sea, instead of just land.

Not sure how fun lookout quests can be?! As long as there are no escort quests. I think underwater missions can be incredible if done right.
