Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is going big on PC – with multi-monitor Split Screen and 4K

It feels that the most recent Call of Duty games have been lacking on PC of late, distributing the love that should be going in to the PC platform amongst the consoles instead. It’s probably one of the reasons that the older Call of Duty games have higher player numbers than newer ones. It seems like Treyarch is trying to fix that. They want the PC version of the game to be a serious contender in the world of eSports, and just be a great experience for PC gamers – filled with the sort of customisation options PC gamers expect.

They’re even putting in Split-screen support, which you can apparently use across two monitors if you have the requisite hardware – split vertically or horizontally. On top of that, the game will get 4K support, an FOV slider and all of the shiny graphics options that PC gamers want and need (because they spend more time playing with settings than playing games). Here’s what Treyarch promises to implement.

  • 100% Ranked Dedicated Servers
  • 2-Player Split Screen
  • Seamless Game Controller Support
  • Strong GPU scaling, SLI and Crossfire Optimizations, and 4K monitor support make the game look and run great at full 4K resolution
  • FOV Slider
  • Framerate Cap Slider
  • Improved Text Chat features available in-game and also now in lobbies.
  • Fantastic Steam Trading Cards – collect them all!
  • Treyarch Anti-Cheat (TAC)

On top of that, Treyarch has released a projected minimum spec for the game. Does your PC meet the specifications?

  • Operating System: Windows 7 64-Bit / Windows 8 64-Bit / Windows 8.1 64-Bit
  • Processor: Intel® Core™ i3-530 @ 2.93 GHz / AMD Phenom™ II X4 810 @ 2.60 GHz
  • Memory: 6 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 470 @ 1GB / ATI® Radeon™ HD 6970 @ 1GB
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Sound Card: DirectX Compatible

The chipper chaps at Treyarch say that they’ll soon have the recommended spec to share with you.

Splitting a turd across multiple screens doesn’t make it any less of a turd, it’s just diarrhea.

Argh… thank goodness the 10 year cycle of the re-imergance of 3D is nearly dead. I am surprised that the 10 year cycle of VR is still hanging around and trying its hardest to break the casual market. It needs to go away already.

          P.S. FUCK KINECT

ANYBODY, INCLUDING PEA BRAINED COD FANS could have told the focus testers that sex sells. Just look at how the VHS beat the BETAMATIX.

INTERACTIVE PORN FOR THE WIN. The only Industry closest to the porn industry are videogames. They need to merge.

I want to go home and be greeted by a holographic projection of a naked elf queen.

            Make it so.

        Medal of Honor: Rising Sun

        Medal of Honor: European Assault

BUT, out of all those cut and paste run and gun BRAINLESS reload sims, the most Memorable was BLACK

It was the first FPS that had distributable environments with SICK sound design. The PS2 nearly blew up.

Also, as an ex-soldier, seeing authentic weapon design was a treat. I still cringe at why FAR CRY 2s weapons were designed for left handed people but shot using the right shoulder. Those ejected shells should have blinded the protag.
