In news that will have several PC gamers shouting DUUUUH at me, Call of Duty is going to look pretty damn good on PC. How good you ask? Well you’re going to need to eat canned dog food in order to afford the right hardware, because COD on PC is going to top whatever visuals next-gen has in store for console gamers.
“PC is taking a different tack from previous games [in the series,]” Call of Duty Ghosts executive producer Mark Rubin said to Kotaku.
According to Rubin, because the older Infinity Ward developed COD games were built with Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 toolsets, those assets were then used for the PC version. But this year has seen the Windows device get its own set of tools, which have been used to spruce the game up.
“Now, PC has its own set of assets,” Rubin said. “It’s going to look better than any Call of Duty we’ve ever made on PC.” That’s not to say that the Xbox One and Playstation 4 versions won’t look good at all. In fact, they’ll really be a leap forward when compared to current-gen platforms. But expect PC to be the king of visuals here, as Ruben said:
They’re actually using an even higher version in many cases than the next-gen consoles, from a texture standpoint.
So there you have it. When it comes to multi-platform, you’ll be getting the highest quality tea-bagging on PC. Why, you can see individual threads in the gootch area of that soldier who just shot you!

YAWN… Not apples with apples. They need to run a box in the same price range to make a comparison like that… I’m 100% sure an i7 with a GTX Titan will look and run way better, I’d be worried if it doesn’t because the Gfx card alone cost more than a PS4…

My point is, why do we see comparisons like this all the time? I’ll keep buying consoles, even if PC games look 10 times better, and so will millions and millions of others. Maybe they have to say that to make sure PC gamers don’t stress about getting low quality ports? Dunno, just find it strange that so many people feel the need to keep stressing that PC looks better…. We know that very very well, we just don’t care..

The article is about where you can get the best visuals for COD Ghosts and the answer is PC. As simple as that. This is apples vs apples if you look at the question being asked.

As a pc gamer I am not sure how I feel about that statement. Imagine the song Stuck in the middle with you but replace the words Jokers with CoD and Clowns with Dota2 and all true pc gamers will start to exclusively play single player games again..

I know Next Gen consoles are going to look great, but to say it will look better than the next gen consoles doesnt say much. So Infinity Ward just admitted to making poor, lazy console ports for the PC? One more reason not to support this series. Unacceptable considering that their titles that sell over a million on this platform alone. Especially since their development cost only makes up a fraction of their marketing costs. Not that it matters to me. I think they’ve all but lost the PC market since CoD 4. When you know where their costs are going you know what their priorities are and that priority is not a quality title.
