Battlefield 3, EA and DICE’s amazing looking modern combat shooter will be out later this year – and, as is to be expected, the PC version will be the best looking (and possibly best playing, depending on your input method of choice) version of the game. Well, it will be if you have the requisite beefy hardware capable of running it at its best, of course. Do you have the necessary machinery?
According to retailer Gamestop, these are the bits you’ll need to get the game running :
Minimum
Hard Drive Space: 15 GB for disc version or 10 GB for digital version OS: Windows Vista or Windows 7 Processor: Core 2 Duo @ 2.0GHz RAM2GB Video Card: DirectX 10 or 11 compatible Nvidia or AMD ATI cardRecommended
Hard Drive Space: 15 GB for disc version or 10 GB for digital version OS: Windows 7 64-bit Processor: Quad-core Intel or AMD CPU RAM 4GB Video Card: DirectX 11 Nvidia or AMD ATI card, GeForce GTX 460, Radeon Radeon HD 6850
These are not the official specs fro EA – but they should give you an indication of what you can expect. The curious thing is that lack of XP support in the specs – but those of you toting DX11 cards wouldn’t be worried about that anyway. I should be able to get away with running relatively close to high if these specs are true – but most of my friends, the people I’d want to play, will be playing on console. What to do…what to do?
