Candy Crush Saga has made more cash than Nintendo in 2014

You can find Mario inside...crying

There’s a ton of cash in mobile gaming. Provided that the masses all focus on your game before the inevitable clones arrive. Take for instance, Candy Crush Saga owner King. That game has made hundreds of millions so far. And it’s still drawing in the big bucks, even beating renowned gaming giants such as Nintendo when it comes to pure cash comparisons.

According to A List Daily, King managed to haul in over $641 million over the first three months of 2014. Nintendo? The house of Mario and Donkey Kong brought in $411 million in comparison to the candy kingdom, a difference of around 56%.

And you can thank Candy Crush for that massive margin. The hit game continues to be a license to print cash for King, as it accounted for two-thirds of its earnings, or around $427 million. That’s one game, beating everything that Nintendo has released so far in the first quarter of 2014. Still, Nintendo will most likely surge past those figures in the holiday season, where it generally shines.

But for now, that’s a bloody depressing statement as to just how outclassed Nintendo is as of late.

What a loser fanboy of Nintendo. They are still laughing all the way to the bank! Candy Crush is too hard for flops like you even in the preliminary zone.

Maybe Nintendo should think of going mobile a bit, they are already very successful with the 3DS, so whats the harm in releasing a Pokemon Crush Saga game with microtransactions? If you can’t beat them kick them in the nuts.

Nintendo would make a killing, maybe this how they can finally make a Pokemon MMO? Fight against random people around the world and if your all your Pokemon is injured you can pay to have them heal immediately or wait five hours.

I don’t advocate microtransactions,DLC or effing Season passes but the reality is I’m in the minority here and if Nintendo wants to stick around they will have to rethink their business strategy a bit

Then they can add WoW/Diablo type Auction Houses and then players can flog their rares, and peddle Pokemon like a true master

I think it’s more a testament to how willing people are to pay for useless crap – just for whatever small self-esteem boost they may get from advancing to level 829 or whatever. Ie: a testament to how many really stupid people there are on the planet. #justsaying #totallyhashtaggedthat

Oh the game is free stupid. Nintendo has decided you and the let’s play losers are useless crap and they have started flagging low-skilled videos of Mario Kart 8 online.

Yup your dumb post is a good testament to how many really stupid people there are on the planet. #ownedyouloser #justsaying #totallyhashtaggedthat #dumbnfanboydie

Candy Crush isn’t a good game, it’s microtransaction robbery of stupid people. Comparing mobile apps to dedicated gaming machines isn’t really relevant either. It’s like comparing table top games to video games. Playing Nintendo games on mobile is a bad idea as well, not only due to the horrible control you get with a touchscreen but the pay to win model would ruin Nintendos credibility with core gamers.

Hahaha you don’t even have the skills to play even a free game, stupid. You’re so stupid! Oh you do pay for lives when you’re stupid and useless that’s all, and more for Nintendo games. You rob yourself because you’re stupid. Simple.

      Simple enough to understand, stupid?

I would like to know how many people see Candy Crush as a long term game? I don’t see it being something more than a footnote 10 years from now. Mario Kart 8, will of course be fondly remembered and still play amazingly (despite the online servers being shut down in 2022.)

Now that Mario Kart 8 is out and sold about 1.2 million on its opening weekend and the Wii U sales are climbing, let’s do a recount.

Not surprising, considering CCS is better than anything Nintendo has released in decades.

Um…CCS has a 79 on Metacritic, and I could name dozens of Nintendo games with a better score than 79. So please stop trolling.
