Completely Off Topic : Kalahari.net Saves GT5 Fan’s Marriage

PS3ZA Forum user RA1THE had the GT5 signature edition pre-ordered from Kalahari.net. I italicised the “had” bit, because his wife – in a perfect example of misplaced good intentions, cancelled the pre-order with the intention of re-ordering so that the order would be eligible for a competition running on the site.

The problem? When trying to re-place the order, she was confronted with the message that the signature edition was now out of stock. Pretty suitable grounds for divorce, or strangulation. Thankfully, it didn’t have to come to that.

In what I can only imagine to be a blind panic, RA1THE contacted Kalahari.net’s media manager, Nick Lykiardopulos, who has forum presence under the nick “Dopo”

Our legal department unfortunately cannot assist in divorces. Gladly however I can make a plan to get you your unit and hopefully that will restore the peace in your marriage.
We had allocated out all our limited edition units however luckily when your wife cancelled the order, it freed up a unit and the product had already been taken off the side so it is still available.
You will need to give me a call at the office on —— or if you PM me your number, I will gladly call you tomorrow, and I can have the product forced back on the site so that you can quickly replace your order. You will need to be ready because in the time it is on the site, that 1 unit will be available to anyone who searches for it so you have to make sure you are ready and place your order first.
Looking forward to sorting this out tomorrow.
Have a great eve.

And that’s the story of how Kalahari.net saved a man’s marriage, and possibly his wife’s life. Thanks to Dopo, RA1THE will be playing GT5 along with everyone else. When Marthinus Versfeld (am_nesia) announced he’d no longer be the contact person for Kalahari’s gaming output, some were worried that they’d no longer receive level of service they’d come to expect. I’m glad that’s not the case.
