Cor blimey! Assassin’s Creed Victory revealed for 2015

AC Victory (2)

Assassin’s Creed is the James Bond of video game franchises; occasionally in need of a reboot and taking place in a wide variety of locales. From Paris to the Caribbean, the game has set foot and blade in many a city. And now, 2015 will see the next Assassin’s Creed game hit the cobbled streets of ye olde Victorian England.

According to now confirmed  assets that Kotaku managed to nab, Assassin’s Creed Victory will release next year on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, with no last-gen version in the works. Currently being developed by Ubisoft Quebec, Victory will once again use the Anvil engine as the bulk of the game is set in London. According to Kotaku, a leaked seven minute video set the scene, as it detailed the production goals for Victory:

Today we can tell you about Victory, thanks to a seven-minute “target gameplay footage” video leaked toKotaku that demonstrates what Ubisoft’s dev team expects from the upcoming Assassin’s Creedgame. The video is surprisingly slick and could pass for an E3 presentation, and although it may not represent what the final game looks like, the beginning of the video proclaims that it was produced entirely in Anvil, Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed engine. In other words, it wasn’t pre-rendered.

The video begins with an assassin, presumably the game’s protagonist, climbing up a tower and looking out at the city of London. We get a quick overview of the city as the camera flies from alley to alley, showing us some of the game’s potential side activities (gambling in a pub, street-racing with carriages, and so forth). We then cut back to the assassin, who leaps down to the street, makes his way into a nearby horse carriage, and accepts an assignment from a mysterious masked woman. The task: kill a man named Roderick Bulmer, who has been trafficking little girls for the assassins’ ancestral enemies. “The templars must receive our message,” says the woman. “You must send it in blood.”

AC Victory (1)

Other interesting tidbits include the new assassin actually blending into the crowd by donning a top hat instead of the usual hood, has a new grappling hook tool and engages in fights atop moving vehicles. Sounds interesting, although Ubisoft is going to have a massive uphill battle on their hands after the lukewarm reception to Assassin’s Creed Unity. Still, I’m looking forward to the inevitable Jack The Ripper DLC.

No. No. No. No. The protagonist just HAS to be voiced by Mark Strong. Or the bad guy. Or anyone. Even the town crier. I don’t care! JUST PUT HIM IN THERE!

Are they now pumping out games just because they can?
Sadly, I’ve not played Unity due to all the horrendous bugs I’ve read up about.

To me, it looks like that series is starting to take a massive flogging 🙁

And its going to be on the same engine as Unity. YEs they are just pushing otu games cause they can and its obvious with the quality of crap they push out that they just see dollar signs.

Sorry Ubi – first fix your new one before telling us about the next one. It’s remember, remember – not forget, forget.

I enjoyed the 1st few Assassin’s Creed games, but have fallen behind because there is just too many of them. Which has led me to not even play the new ones because I still need to play the old ones.

Yes, 1 a year is just too many & the games are suffering for it. I only just finished 3, who knows when I’ll get around to Black Flag.

That’s the problem with the Creed games. At least something like COD is mostly focused on MP and the stories are usually not connected. The last Assassins Creed game I played it felt like I was missing some of the story because I hadn’t played previous versions. That actually put me off of it.

most developers push out a game every year these days. We still complain every year that the new release is not as good as the first few, but we still buy it. We cannot expect a completely different team of developers to fix another team’s blunders. wait for the patches, buy the game , enjoy it to a certain degree and then complain about it. Humans are never satisfied, it’s just our nature. 🙂

If I look at what an Assassin’s Creed game is, it shouldn’t be released every year. Maybe every 4-5 years. Then it can maybe be something special / different to play.

But Ass Creed every year is just the same shit every year. It’s not even brilliant fucking games. It’s fucking shit. I don’t understand why this series needs a yearly release and how it became so popular and why people still buy this shit every year.

    Anyway. Fuck Ubisoft.

Don’t support DRM. The Witcher 3 is coming.
