The first thing that comes to your mind when you see this video is probably going to be something along the lines of “is this actually going to look as good as this video”.

This trailer for CryEngine 3 is titled Beauty Speed Interaction and shows off the engine running on the PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 and it may be quite an understatement to say that it is looking unbelievably amazing.

I cannot wait to see some different games running on this engine and how developers will make use of it because it looks amazing and crazy powerful.

Check it out after the jump.

  1. does look awesome, I’m just wondering if any of the big devs will use it?

    Ubisoft: own engines
    iD: Own engines
    Epic:Own engine
    Bungie:Own engine
    Dice:Own engine

Are there any room for this ? I think most of the smaller companies are heavily invested in teh Unreal 3 engine 🙁

Well DICE used the UE3 in Mirror’s Edge and
Ubisoft are using a modified version of UE2.5 for SC: Conviction.
Brother’s in Arms (Ubisoft) also used the UE3.

So it’s not like it isn’t happening already. 🙂

However like you’ve stated, most smaller companies are probably invested in the Unreal Engine.

Now lets hope some indie group snaps up this engine and re-makes all the old classics 🙂 I for one would love to play Half Life 1 and others with this engine 🙂
