Crysis 3 PC graphics comparison

Crytek’s games are often technical and visual showcases; displaying the cutting edge in graphics technology. One problem resulting from that is there’s a perceived lack of well, game when it comes to Crytek titles; with many believing they’re just highly interactive technical demos. That said, you can’t deny that their games are gorgeous. Here’s a look at the most gorgeous version of Crysis 3 -  on the PC, naturally with a range of different visual settings and anti-aliasing implementations. Time to play spot the difference!

The chaps from ResetLoad (via DSOGaming) have done a video comparison, comparing the game on Pc on all of its settings – and the most striking thing is that there’s not much fundamental difference. Sure, it obviously looks a little nicer and sharper using “very high” presets, it still looks pretty damned incredible on low.

For reference , ResetLoad used  a machine with the following specs: Core i7 Sandy Bridge @ 4.5ghz with an NVidia Geforce GTX 690 and 8gb Vengeance RAM – which is pretty high-end stuff. Thankfully, it looks like you won’t need that sort for hardware to get the game to run, and look great doing so.

Youtube obviously isn’t the best for this sort of thing thanks to compression, but you can mitigate it somewhat by loading the video in fullscreen at 1080p.

Of course, there will still be people who’re adamant that Crysis 1 looks better. Crysis 3 is out this Friday on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

I actually downloaded the high-res packs for Crysis 2 this week, should get to installing them.

I don’t really see any Crysis game as a technical demo. I played the first three installments, and was entertained! I am definitely going to be getting Crysis3, but NOT on day one.

Yeah, I just wonder how scalable it is then, if there’s hardly any big difference between LOW and MAX settings?
