Dance Central’s major flaw… it’s a single player game

DanceCentral

One of my most anticipated Kinect games was Dance Central, I am a huge fan of the Just Dance series from Ubisoft and I felt that Dance Central would be taking that title and improving it by tracking my entire body.

And it does, it’s apparently very good and really quite entertaining but it has a fatal flaw that has dropped it from being number 1 on my list to somewhere near the bottom.

The thing is what I enjoy about Just Dance is that my entire family can grab a Wii remote and dance off against each other. I get to look like and idiot and my kids get to beat me at games. It’s fun.. and that is why I game.

However Dance Central doesn’t really have a multiplayer mode, apparently the way it works is that you each take turns dancing as Kinect can only track 1 dancer correctly at a time, and then at the end of the song you get to see who wins.

The lack of a substantial multiplayer component pretty much kills this game for me, I think I will rather pick up Just Dance 2 and wait for Dance Central 2 to come out with the required multiplayer being dropping money on this one.

ha ha ha the start of the end. Must make you wonder if the issue lies with Kinect or the publisher….

I think its Kinect. But hey you been waiting a while for this so go for it.

So one person has to make a fool of them at a time not with a buddy

That’s bizarre, because it would make sense for it to be a multiplayer game. If Kinect can track 2 accounts at the same time, then this should have been a breeze for dance central. I’m surprised none of the reviewers didn’t pick this up?

They did I got the info from the Eurogamer review since we haven’t received our review copies yet. They just didn’t think it was that important

I saw two people playing Dance Central on TV and videos online before. I suspect what they mean is that there’s no two player mode, but two people can play it. Maybe? Let us know when you play it…
