Dante’s Inferno Demo landing next month – Will you absolve Pontius Pilate?

DantesInferno

I have been keeping a side eye on Dante’s Inferno ever since it’s bizarre marketing took centre stage and now that Modern Warfare 2 has been released I can start paying more attention to it.

Granted it’s only arriving next year February but we are going to be able to download a demo in December of the entire first level.

I have attached the latest dev diary after the break as well and if you were wondering whether or not this game is really going to be any good I would strongly recommend watching it. Those killer babies are awesome.

If you are a Christian would you absolve Pontius Pilate from hell as depicted in the header image above or punish him even further? I like the conundrum as you are taught to turn the other cheek and forgive people but this is the man who crucified your saviour…

For the religious non Christians, are you happy to play this game even though it is based on the Christian faith? Or does that just feel unacceptable to you?

As a christian.. this game has nothing to do with the Christian faith. A majority of gamers out there that I know that are Christians will not play this game, myself included. This game is just a bit way too demonic for my likings.. flame me if you want, but i’ve watched all the vids for this game (as i do with all games that are in the limilight) and this game is just one game thats a bit way too much anti-christian for me.

I agree that it is a very demonic game but I haven’t seen anything in this game that makes it anti-christian, if you wouldn’t mind could you give some more info on that?

As far as hell goes.. .there are many descriptions in the Bible, and this game has none of that.

But more than that, lets take Pontius Pilate for an example. He wasn’t responsible for the crucifiction of Christ. He goes as far as to say he doesn’t want to, he washes his hands of the death of Christ, and puts the blame squarely in the hands of the Jews. The Jews agree to this. So he isn’t to blame. Honestly, I think he is in Heaven now :P.

You can also send people back to Heaven in the game, and “clean their slates” as the guy said in the one walkthrough. Once you are in hell there is no turning back. There are people who will call for Christ in Hell but will not be heard. This game gives a guy hope in hell.

I could go on for more if you want, we actually had a long discussion on this, I just listed what I thought most people would see. But we have a lot my friends and i came up with.

um… are you retarded? there’s no such thing as heaven or hell, it’s all fucking make-believe. the bible is a story, made for entertainment value. so no, pontius pilate is not in heaven. he’s most likely buried in the ground, long since decomposed, or perhaps he was cremated, and his ashes are scattered around the middle east. who cares?
