Dark Souls III – Estus Shard location guide

Your sword may have bathed in the blood of countless undead. Your armour may be made from dragons with rage remorse but you might need a little something extra to survive. So step into my office, and I’ll tell you where can get your hands on those rare Estus shards. You’re not a cop, right?

Remember, Estus shards help increase your flask count when you hand them over to Andre the Blacksmith over in the Firelink Shrine. Get all 11 shards, and you’ll also get a neat trophy/achievement, because I live my life waiting for that wonderful ding. Anyway, here’s the locations.

Cathedral of the Deep

At the Cleansing Chapel bonfire, go outside and up the stairs to the right. An obelisk can be found with some monks praying around it, the shard between them as well.

Farron Keep

On the Road of Sacrifices, go towards the broken bridge and on to the bonfire in front of you. The Estus shard can be found next to some poisonous slugs.

Firelink Shrine

Purchase the tower key from the handmaid, and go up the curved stairs by the right side of the shrine. Halfway up, stop and go through the open door found by the arches/mist doors. Go out, open the tower door and ascend further up a spiral staircase. Drop off the bridge to your left, drop again past the nest and turn around before heading through another archway. The Estus shard can be found among the rafters in the main shrine room.

High Wall of Lothric

In the Tavern-like room before the Winged Knight encounter where you find the cell key that will free Greirat. It’s on top of the anvil.

After the Dancer of the Boreal Valley is done away with, light the bonfire and climb the ladder in front of you. Further up, you’ll find an elevator. Use it, jump off when you’re about halfway through and you’ll nab another Estus shard.

Irithyll of the Boreal Valley

At the Anor Londo bonfire, go up the stairs and through the double doors. In the dark room, hug the wall to the left and you’ll come across a chest that has an Estus shard inside.

Irithyll Dungeon

After you exit the dungeon, go across the bridge and left through a door. Drop down into the tunnel, go down the steps and through an archway to find a Mimic Chest. Kill the fiend and claim your Estus shard.

Lothric Castle

From the Grand Archives bonfire, take the lift but don’t exit the rooftop right away. Go around the right side, across the roofs and look for a curve. Go up the stairs, through the archways and you’ll see a shard at the end of the balcony that happens to have a smelly corpse lying there.

Road of Sacrifices

At the Crucifixion Woods bonfire, go to the ruins that leads on to the Crystal Sage. Go around the building on the left side, drop down and a shard will be to your left.

Smouldering Lake

At the Old King anti-chamber bonfire near the archway, take your first left and you’ll find a skeleton holding the shard.

Undead Settlement

Ahead of the balcony, in the opening near the large tree where enemies watch a fire, you can find an Undead Matron guarding it.
