Like a fat kid being told to run the 500 meter sprint at a school sports day, life is always better when you hear a certain brand of asthmatic breathing. And while I may have replaced Tubb’s respirator with a cartridge of sulphur hexafluoride that day, it was done so in an attempt to see if I could turn the chap into the dreaded Darth Vader.
We all miss you Tubbs. Moving on! The next best-thing to dodging murder charges in your pursuit of Star Wars, is obviously having some branded merch. Obviously. Enter the PlayStation 4, which will be releasing a special limited Edition console that has the infamous Sith Lord and champion choker etched on it. Available from November 17, this PS4 will feature the usual 500GB storage capacity in the CUH-1200 model of the console, as well as a rather ace-looking controller. Hell, I don’t even want the console. Give me that controller already. Here’s a stack of images of the hardware:
In addition to all that, the Vader PS4 will come with a voucher to download some classic Star Wars games alongside the release of the new Star Wars: Battlefront game:
- Super Star Wars
- Star Wars: Racer Revenge
- Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter
- Star Wars: Bounty Hunter
Not a bad selection there. I had Bounty Hunter as an ace Gamecube game years ago, and the Jedi Starfighter game was sort of mental, due to the idea of using Force powers in space. Would have preferred some more Rogue Squadron though.
BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE! Alongside the classic games, a second bundle option swaps out the retro for the Disney Infinity 3.0: Star Wars Edition PlayStation Exclusive Hardware Bundle Kit, with the Sony exclusive Boba Fett figure.
In all honesty, the console itself looks…ok. It’s not to my taste, and it doesn’t look anywhere near as sexy as the Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain console. But I genuinely am in love with the paint scheme on that controller. More of that please, Sony.

Hmmm, I think someone put a Storm Trooper somewhere on my console then…can’t hit the broad side of a whatever-those-creatures-are in Halo 4 🙁

Yeah people can’t hit on console without aim assist anyway. So putting a storm trooper on would be like stating the obvious.
