This may very well be one of the greatest and most emotionally moving trailers to ever grace the world of video games. the video instantly spread around the internet like wildfire, even managing to be a top trending topic on Twitter’s front page shortly after being unveiled.

Dead Island has been announced as a (yes another) zombie-themed title that takes place on a tropical island where vacationing is usually the hip thing to do. I could quite honestly almost care less about any of the other unannounced details of the game because I am still buzzing from the experience that I just had watching the trailer.

You need to see this for yourself. Video and more info below.

Oh and just in case you were wondering if anyone has cut it running in the right order, they have and you can watch it here.

The game’s facebook page that is given at the end of the trailer only has the following extra information to say about the game:

Survive Paradise:

Terror. Violence. Madness. Bedlam. A holiday paradise gone mad.

A tropical island turns into total chaos after a mysterious zombie outbreak. Cut off from the rest of the world, the player’s only chance to survive is to fight to the death and find a way to escape from the island.

Ok, so the trailer was really great, but how will developer TechLand try to pull off yet another zombie game without it feeling completely stale at this point?

This isn’t actually the first time the world has heard of Dead Island, as it was actually announced in 2009 before it promptly disappeared into thin air for three years. IGN’s preview reports that the game will be an action-RPG zombie slasher set in the first person set in Papua New Guinea.

Dead Island is set to release this year on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. Let’s hope it’s anywhere near as good as its trailer.
