Destiny Beta is now code-free

Destiny moon

With the amount of hype around this Beta, I can’t even imagine how excited people will be when Destiny finally launches. It’s a seriously fun game, and we gave away a bunch of codes so people could play. But now, you can get in on the action even without a code. Of course, there are still some “standard requirements”.

Bungie has announced that the Beta is now in all access, letting people on every platform (except PC, and anything Nintendo) become Guardians. The Beta has been a huge success thus far, doing what it’s meant to, namely finding plenty of bugs. The Beta is sometimes broken for people on Xbox One, calling itself corrupted if people try to play before it’s 100% downloaded. Of course, for some Xbox One users it is corrupted and they will have to delete and re-install. Wow am I glad the Xbox One isn’t here yet – with our slow bandwidth issues that re-download would kill many people’s interest in the game.

There are some standard requirements to get into the Beta.

Xbox LIVE Gold is required to download and play on Xbox platforms. PlayStation Plus is required for some activities on PlayStation platforms. 48-hour and 14-day Xbox LIVE Gold trials are not supported on Xbox 360. Destiny also requires a broadband internet connection.

This means that if you’ve got a voucher or something for a trial version of Gold for a few days, this won’t work to get you into the Beta. You’ll need to go buy a month of Gold access if your account isn’t already activated.

Excellent! I am SO tempted but I really just want to play the game when it is done…but the agony of waiting and seeing virtually 100% of my friends list (OK I have few friends!) playing the thing is hard.

Hahahaha!!! Come join us, the weekend will be plenty of Destiny again!!!! My wife is going to a baby shower on Saturday, which means if we are in a party chat you won’t have to hear my 4 year asking why I did this or why I did that!!!

I hope some of you will join me for the IRON BANNER event. If you haven’t played it you need to try it out. You have to collect the quest in the tower to access it and it is in then playable in the Crucible Playlist. It’s a PVP challenge with 4 Maps (Moon, Mars, Venus and Earth)
    The SA times its on:
    Friday 7PM – 11PM
    Saturday 1AM – 3AM and 6AM – 8AM and 7PM – 11PM
    Sunday 1AM – 3AM and 6AM – 8AM

I’m there like a bear as always.

I think Bungie has asked that everyone hop on for the Saturday 11pm session to do scale testing.

I think the Bungie message said 2PM PDT and they are 9 hours behind us. So I also thought it was also 11PM?

I’ve been playing… when I get the chance… Got to lvl 4… keep dying in some of those “no respawn” zones, so end up re-doing them. I blame the fact that no one I know is playing the Xbox 360 version.
