Destiny Beta players faked moon landings

The Destiny Beta was a big deal. It’s gotten tons of attention and helped the developers fix the game in ways they couldn’t have anticipated without millions of people pushing capacity to its limits. Now Bungie has rewarded us with an infographic.

I love how we all enjoy infographics – we could see the same information in article or table form and it’s not nearly as cool. I suppose it’s the “soundbite” approach to reporting online, but either way, here is the highly entertaining image with plenty of data in easy to digest form.

Destiny Beta Infographic

Bungie is really grateful for the help all your faked moon landings and companion app downloads had to offer. In the end, as much as the beta was a cool opportunity for us to see what the game was all about, it also let the developers see where they still need to fix things, as well as get feedback on what people liked or didn’t.

We’re running out of ways to thank you for what the Beta has meant to us. We hope you had fun. Destiny will be a better game because you played it. Perhaps that’s the best gesture we can manage – to deliver a game that’s better than it was before your contribution.

Were you one of the many people who downloaded the companion app? I didn’t, but maybe I should have. It looks quite cool, although I’m not one to ogle my gear on the go. Were you one of the stats in the infographic, or will you be picking up the full game instead of spoiling yourself with the Beta?

I’m still guessing it won’t. But this is one of the few times I’d be completely happy being wrong.

It was awesome, but it really needs to be released either on PC or on console with mouse & keyboard support (without a mouse the sniper is nearly useless in PvP).

I disagree that the sniper is nearly useless. The sniper behaved the same for any FPS like Cod and BF4 (without the drop rate). I didn’t have problems with it and I got sniped a lot as well. I do agree that mouse & keyboard would be a lot better though in general for FPS on console

I used the sniper all of 6 times and managed to get 1 kill before abandoning it in favour of a shotgun.
I only saw it used twice and both times it was against the turret I was piloting near point B on the Moon map and both time it failed to be effective in any manner (they would have been better off using a shotgun).

I think it is probably dependent on what type of sniper you had and which scope you fitted. I picked up a uncommon fire damage with semi-auto with the long range scope fitted. On the moon and earth I equipped my sniper and for venus and mars my shotgun.

The 1 kill I got was for Venus.
I found running between A and C on the Moon with a shotgun was most effective when avoiding vehicular manslaughter.

Have the app, but was disappointed that I can’t interact, example would be buying stuff from the shops. App was not great but did give some cool stats, basically the same info as the website.

I used the companion app mostly to look at my stats and read my Grimoire cards.
