Destiny’s Cryptarch will become a little more generous

Cryptarse

Just before the weekend, Bungie revealed a bit of news that’ll have the many of you still playing Destiny rather excited; they’re going to be a little more generous when it comes to handing out better gear. It’s just one of the many promised tweaks and tunes that’ll be coming for the game in the coming weeks leading up to the release of the game’s first major DLC, the ominously named “The Dark Below”.

Destiny community manager David “Deej” Dague said in the latest weekly update that Bungie has “several bundles of joy in our hold”, which will “land in the weeks to come”.  Dague promises that new content will give everyone something to do.

  • Channels for talking to matchmade teammates, if you so wish
  • Exotic weapons that are stronger and more interesting to upgrade
  • New gear to let you slip into something a little more Legendary
  • That which waits in The Dark Below

Dague also mentioned a few impending arrivals – some of which haven’t been revealed yet.

  • New shaders for your gear
  • Ways to preview items before you spend your Glimmer
  • Greater chances of “showers” in public spaces
  • Adjustments to some arenas that needed better traffic flow
  • New economies to equip you with upgrade materials
  • Fixes, patches, and other invisible technical evolutions
  • Some other tricks up our sleeve
  • Maybe even a more generous Cryptarch (he’ll still be sort of a bastard)

Funnily enough, Destiny’s multiplayer’s probably been given an unintended shot in the arm thanks to Call of Duty. With that game’s servers not functioning, and the terrible lag compensation making its multiplayer effectively unplayable, many who’d have moved on to Sledgehammer’s game are instead sticking around, farming for exotics in Destiny.

Greater chances of “showers” in public spaces? That’s disgusting.

I see a Bungie exec got swatted recently too over dissatisfaction with Destiny….Good times we live in. Clearly police aren’t busy saving lives, they’re at the beck an call of disgruntled gamers…If its not death threats, its malicious pranks. Think I’ll just hop off this planet now

I played yesterday with my hunter level 25, I only had one legendary item at the time which were gauntlets…. In the 3 hours I played I got two more legendary gauntlets!!! I wanted to shoot the cryptarch in the face!!
And I have started Sherlock Holmes Crimes and Punishment… Wow, I have finished the first 2 cases and they were brilliant!! If you like a detective game, then pick this up it is really amazing…. (The graphics is still 5 years old, but the stories in the first two cases were gripping to say the least. Took me about 3 hours per case, didn’t stop for a second!!)

Wolf among us looks very cool, will pick it up on the PS4 before year end!! But this Sherlock game is even better than The Testament of Sherlock Holmes, the stories Frogware uses is amazingly good!! The tutorial is just not helpful at all, you will have to find your own way….

The Walking Dead (TellTale games’ version) = SO good!! More an interactive story, per se, but doesn’t mean I enjoyed it any less. Some of the most gut-wrenching choices I’ve ever had to make in a game!

Sherlock is pretty much an interactive story also, but the first two cases had me glued to my TV!! Not a lot of shows can do that to me anymore!!

The Testament of Sherlock Holmes was the one before Crimes and Punishment and I have never had to search for help on youtube as much as I did with that game!! Some of those puzzles still haunt me!! They had a story line in that one, which spanned the whole game and it was really good!!

Call me when it’s the 9th of December or if a Raid is planned. It was fun playing games not requiring having to reboot ADSL routers or disabling WiFi connections. There were so many Rangers i had to avenge in SOM

The upgrades makes a huge difference. Especially Shadow Strike and Vault Stun. Dropped three captains faster than Hougaard dropped the ball on Saturday. Plus I got to a second region. So that’s two maps so far.

Mmmmmm, might have to make then!! The first 3 hours in and I am not that impressed to be honest… Maybe I just need to stick with it a bit longer???

As you learn the games mechanics it becomes more enjoyable. It’s frustrating to die when fighting a captain but it’s not necessary. There’s no shame in retreating only to come back and try again.

Unlocked the second region last night. So strong captains can’t touch me so it shouldn’t be long before I”m done, hopefully I finish it before FC4

I really hope that they have a few better ideas story wise with the DLC so that all the haters can just stop bitching and start seeing that the game is pretty solid!! I would say give the ghost a few powers that can be upgraded and let him partake in the battles?? A blinding light for the Warlock a EMP for the Titan and a blade wave sort of thing for the Hunter or something like that!!

Make the little shit part of the game more!! He can get new skins, maybe give him some abilities and let him not just sit stuck at the door the whole time telling you that there are things on its way coming to kill you 🙂

I love Destiny but I feel it’s missing content, I’m kinda just waiting for expansions now….

So I was playing COD AW over the weekend, I have come to the conclusion that I officially suck at this game, all other shooters I can scrounge a 1.2 kpd in pvp, but here I’m struggling to hit 0.7 kpd. Maybe my weapon choices are wrong, possibly the game is not camper friendly…. nah can’t be that surely.

I wanted to share an actual convo I was party to in game over the weekend:

Youngling 1: I can’t believe we are still losing, man our team suuucks!
Youngling 2: INORITE, look at these guys, we have 2 noobs and they have 4 noobs and we are still losing.
Youngling 1: Its not the game, I started off with a 0.8 kpd and now I’m pwning, so these guys just suck.
Youngling 2: You know, I was in the top 40 in SA in Ghosts, can’t believe we got matched with these losers.
Youngling 1: Yeah, I was in the Top 20 in Western Cape, you know that right.
    Youngling 2: Yeah, crazy neh.
Youngling 1: Sometimes when I get a shit team I just play and force the team to win.
Youngling 2: Me too, sometimes I just say “fuck it” and decide to play so well that I win the game by myself.

So I have no idea where the COD hate comes from….
