I won

The Do Gaming League culminated last weekend in the DGC. A wide variety of teams from a range of clans took part in the games. While some “no name” teams and players were successful, for the most part the championships were dominated by the established names in eSports: Bravado, Energy and ROCCAT.

So, who took first place? Let’s take a look:

  • Bravado – StarCraft 2, CS:GO, Battlefield 3
  • Energy – Dota 2
  • ROCCAT – BLOPS 2, League of Legends

However, if we throw in the second and third places, you can see that those teams cleaned up across the board. Energy picked up 3rd place in CS:GO and 2nd place in Blops 2, while Bravado owned StarCraft 2 – they not only got the top prize, but also took the third seat.

That’s not to say you had to be in one of these clans to win something. Here are the rest of the winners:

  • QL – XTC Theosis
  • GT5 – GTAS Peetham
  • FIFA (Xbox) – Irshaad ‘IRI_007’ Mahomed
  • FIFA (PC) – Wonga ‘WONGA99’ Denga
  • FIFA (PS3) – Wasim ‘LEEDSUNITED4LYF’ Ebrahim

Despite only coming away with one first place ranking, things are seriously looking great for Energy. Not only did they land some new sponsorships, now rumor has it that they will be heading to Paris to compete in the ESWC. If this is true, it will put South Africa on the international eSports map as they compete against teams like Evil Geniuses and Team Empire. Local eSports is really growing up.

Yeah, the big names dominated in the big events even more if you look at the 2nd and 3rd places aswell, Energy both bother 2 or 3 teams getting 2nd and 3rd places.

stoked about En going to ESWC, a great experience for them regardless of the results.

Even though I am sure people appreciate the effort, but to post an article like this for the top competitive event in the country for the subject matter you cover is shocking. Even the title picture ? Are you not bothered at all to even attend Rage or the DGC ? 🙁
