Diablo 3 may be broken on consoles right now

Diablo 3

Diablo’s annual season update usually packs in plenty of new features. New enemies, new zones, new loot and new ideas. The 2.4.0 edition of Diablo 3 has all that and then some, as well as an added bonus of buggery as it looks like the current updated build of Blizzard’s massively popular action-RPG is currently gutted on console.

That’s the word from the Diablo 3 forums over at Blizzard, as numerous players are complaining that the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game are showing signs of severe lag and a stammer usually reserved for The King’s Speech. Direwolf posted this initial analysis hours ago:

I have D3:UEE on a new PS4 (CUH-1215A model), recently purchased. I am in North America.

Under the last patch, 2.3.0 (which was the first patch I ever had), the game ran smoothly, no issues whatsoever, be it Adventure Mode Torment 1 through 4 single and multiplayer.

After downloading and installing the latest patch, 2.4, my game experiences the following:

1. Noticeable Micro-stuttering/frame lag walking around New Tristram or other towns. Difficulty: Torment 3.

2. Noticeable Micro-stuttering/frame lag walking around and fighting in Adventure Mode in the Expanded Zones. Difficulty: Torment 3.

3. Lag in menus and when buttons are pushed.

And he’s not the only one. There’s another thread up on the Diablo forums, filled with similar complaints from other console owners of Diablo 3. Frame-rate and lag issues seem to be the main culprits here at play. It’s not the first time that this happened either, as the 2.3 patch for Diablo 3 also had a jittery first week. So if you’re looking to do some questing around the Ruins of Sescheron, it might be worth holding off for a few days or so until Blizzard sorts out the mess.

Shame, that gamer who had a heart attack at his computer still had the ERROR 37 message up on his screen 🙁

People forget the hate quickly. It infuriated gamers into overdrive. The first example of DRM becoming the norm.

IMO the good outweighs the bad. Diablo 3 and the exp was great even before the auction house chop.

Well they did sack the chop who invented the Auction House.

This game is the best example of how to fuck up something already tried and tested. Tetris is another.

To this day I’m glad I avoided this game, mostly because I didn’t actually like Diablo 2. Found it boring compared to 1. All the shit that went down with it after release, don’t give a shit that “it’s okay now”.

Diablo was awesome, 2 wasn’t as good as 1, 3 is awesome again (after they had to fix it).

I got Diablo 3 not long after release, and I just couldn’t enjoy it, I’d get bored quickly… now I can play for an entire day.

My biggest issue is that they didn’t give us PC players the ability to play offline, or to co-op on the same machine.

lolwut? Have you had some kind of epiphany? The first, and usually only, thing you hear from console gamers when a PC game is buggered is “HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA”.

People are changing their mindset, gamers are gamers. No matter the platform of choice. Developers shouldn’t give out broken toys.

Neither did Rockstar. It was a sleeper hit created by one off their side studios, like Bully. They are all disbanded now but they admitted that they had no idea it would sell so well. Unfortunately The IP was closed off or something. So no remaster or PC version.

Yeah, on Xbox 360 and PS3… then they release BETA 2 on Xbone and PS4… then released a working version on PC that the people f’ed up by cheating and hacking.

Only in SP… but then again I’ve never used a mod in GTAV, and I’ve played through the story 1 and a half times on PC (that’s other than the 2 play throughs on the 360)
