Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls has sold millions

AND-MILLIONS!

I’m pretty late to the Diablo 3 party. I only just picked up the game for Xbox 360, but I have to admit, I’m having a blast playing as monk with fists of iron. As usual, I am way beyond fashionably late, as the expansion is out for PC. And it has sold plenty so far.

Diablo 3 players have gone head to head with Death himself more than 1.5 million times since the game launched on March 25. And according to the Nephaelem number-crunchers at Blizzard, that equates to sales of over 2.7 million copies of the game.

Both physical and digital, from all manner of retailers around the world, the numbers say. Over on Twitch, those numbers stack up even more, as the game has been viewed through numerous playthroughs over 2.4 million times.

“With Reaper of Souls, we wanted to emphasize all the things that Diablo gamers have always loved about the series, from the dark gothic setting to the piles and piles of epic loot,” said Blizzard CEO and co-founder Mike Morhaime to VG24/7.

We’re excited to see that players are enjoying the changes we’ve made to the game, and we look forward to achieving our Paragon levels alongside everyone else in the weeks and months ahead.

Matty Fig reviewed the PC version of the game for us yesterday, labelling it as a worthwhile addition to the franchise. Expect the sales behind the game to climb even further when the game launches in Russia, Mexico, Chile and Brazil from April 15.

And add even more sales to that, when the PlayStation 4 version arrives. I’m personally looking forward to getting my hands on that ultimate evil.

Yeah but you didn’t have the base game, so you don’t count. Stealing it from us who do.

I hope you do, so far I’ve not seen below R400 still in stores. Either way, the game is awesome, so definitely worth it.

Probably, although they might just release it as a standalone game… like 2k did with Enemy within.
