Dodgy Asian PSPGo! Knock Off

This was inevitable. Any of you who’ve listened to CD’s on your “Somy” Hi Fi system, played games on your golden china 8 bit system or even glanced at the time on your “Rolux” watch would know that the Chinese are pretty good at making counterfeit goods that look uncannily genuine.

The victim of Sino-cloning this time is Sony’s new PSP Go!, which has received a doppelganger in the form of the PXP-2000.  It has a bucketload of features too!

PXP2

A built-in camera, FM radio, drag and drop MP3/MP4, speakers, MP5(wut?) player, SD card slot, and 4GB of built-in memory grace the faux handheld.

It doesn’t actually play PSP games, but does come preloaded with and e-book and nifty illegal things like emulators. The price? Considerably cheaper than a PSP Go1, at $84 USD, or R620.

I’m ashamed to admit it, but I actually want one – and I don’t really know why. It’s probably because I can’t actually afford an actual PSP Go!

I don’t think emulators are illegal Geoff, as long as you own the console and the games. How would I play my import ps2 games then. Anyways, were any puppies harmed during the making of this fong-kong?

The emulator would not be illegal, but normally when you buy these things the emulator got 1000 of ROMS on that you don’t own – and those are illegal.

Not even considering buying this or any other device that comes with preloaded roms. The joy in emulating is always about trying to make things word. I do not support the illegal use of anything especially if it hurts developers.

If companies would stop making games region locked then maybe something like dolphin would’nt exist.

MP5… Dude, that’s insane! It’s like 4D. What games does it emulate though? If it’s SNES and Genesis then I’m on board. I don’t realy care about the legality of SNES/Genesis roms since c’mon, what provit does Nintendo/Sega still generate from these?
