Doing the unthinkable, Don Bradman Cricket 2014 will now release in the year that it is actually based on. Howzat?

Don Bradman Cricket 2014, also known as that cricket game which is not a completely bug-riddled mess that was so god-awful that it had to be pulled from shelves, will now only arrive sometime in 2014. Here’s the full announcement, copied from the Facebook page word for CTRL+Ved word:

Don Bradman Cricket 14 will not release in 2013.

In order to bring the best possible game to the market at the best possible time we have decided to move the date into 2014. We are working to get the game to all markets simultaneously and will advise as soon as we can of an exact release date once it is known.

On a positive note, there will be a new Don Bradman Cricket Academy released on Friday and to say thanks for your patience it will include the long awaited Nets Practice mode.

There’s no new release window yet for the game or any confirmation that its been delayed for a century, but it’s got a golden opportunity for Big Ant games. The latest Ashes Cricket game has been widely panned, and pretty much got sent out for a duck after it was released.

As the only other studio working on a licensed cricket game right now, Don Bradman could rake in plenty of sales, and a little bit of extra polish time won’t hurt. After all, what else are you going to play?

Don Bradman Cricket 2014 will be not that kind of out on PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

  1. I guess that is pretty good news, if they want to spend more time polishing. I far prefer games that release later but in working condition as opposed to plenty games that basically release too early and essentially double up as a beta test.
